Apartamento 1ª línea con vistas al mar Hondarribia - Villa Aldekai

Benat, the host, was brilliant. Really helpful when showing us in and informative about the local area. The apartment was really well located, close to the centre of a vibrant town.

The apartment suited the two of us well, but the lounge/cooking area would be cramped for a family.

The location of this apartment was excellent, close to the beach and town with a lovely view from the balcony which gives a great sea view. Off road garaged parking was a plus for care of the hire car and thankfully a good selection of eating places was recommended by Beñat our contact at the apartment.

We were extremely disappointed to learn that no attempt was to be made to repair or replace a broken refrigerator, although known about by the owners from previous clients. The refrigerator solution provided for our 4 days self catering stay was to be a large plastic box in to which melting ice was placed by us on a daily basis. Anything open or in cardboard or paper wrapping inevitably risked getting wet in water. I would also recommend that the owners give greater consideration to the comfort of clients. I personally found the poor quality and rather stained mattress and pillows of the double bed most uncomfortable and the rather noisy and uncomfortable bunk beds was no better. After 3 nights of very little sleep we left disappointed.

Lovely location over looking the river, near the beach. The owner was kind enough to turn on the heat, as the weather had turned cold and damp. Great parking garage. Very small kitchen was nicely equipped.

Beds were hard, for my taste. Pillows need to be replaced. Bring beach towels, as only one towel per person was supplied. Wifi could be better.

Breakfeast on the balcony - enjoying the view - was great. Having just a short walk to the beach was great - we used it a lot. Similarly, the walk into the city for dinner etc. was short. In this holiday time of the year there was quite some action in the city, many busy bars and restaurants - we liked this a lot.

There were noisy nights on the weekend - but we slept with open windows and in a city. We'd preferred to have separate covers for our bed.
