We had a great stay at The Barn at Bowentown, Waihi Beach. Communications with the property manager were friendly and helpful. Lovely modern apartment, well setup with everything you are likely to need. Close to Bowentown end of the beach.

Great location. Nice and cool with the 2 air con units. Very private and quiet.

The dishes were dirty, including the oven tray, we had to wash them all before using. The BBQ wasn't clean so we weren't too keen to use it. There was no cleaning supplies like a mop or broom, we accidentally dropped a bottle of wine on the floor and had to use toilet paper and wet wipes to clean it up, it was Christmas day so we weren't able to contact anyone. The vent in the bedroom lets in so many insects that we couldn't use the lights upstairs at night time without dozens of creepy crawlies in the bed.

Matt, who was looking after the place was super! I wanted to cook but the kitchen had cookware in terrible condition. He immediately brought me something I could use and metal utensil for the grill. Later, he brought me a new pot and pan! Thank you! Liked the TV options.

Great for couples, not suitable for mobile babies, toddlers. The stairs do not have railings fyi. We managed just fine. Kitchen could use some more items such as a plastic cutting board for meat…there are wooden ones there. Maybe a cookie sheet or something to put a pizza on out of the oven.
