"All round excellent. Right next to the station, ideal for Harz steam, and mainline trains"

The owner was very helpful, with good communication via Booking.co. We were able to move to handover time, as our trains were delayed. Even though the owner did not speak English, there were handover notes in English for us.

It would have been nice to have a kettle, so that we could make morning cup of tea.

"Comfortable and spacious base for exploring the Harz Region"

This large apartment is one of the best we have stayed in. Everything worked super well including the shower, the wi-fi and the heating plus we loved the hard floors throughout. The location more or less opposite both the bus station and rail station is very convenient both for ordinary DB trains and for HSB steam trains. The road outside is very quiet at night. Wernigerode is a lovely town to explore with an amazing town hall and taking the steam train up to the Brocken is an experience not to be missed. The owner Biene met us on arrival to give us the key and explain how things worked. She provided information brochures in German and English and a laminated map of the town centre - helpful things that many apartments just don't bother with anymore. Plenty of supermarkets in walking distance including a Biomarkt and an Edeka. We would stay here again.
