The Hobbit House

The Hobbit House is surrounded by a beautiful yard and in summer with all the foliage there’s so much privacy. The location was perfect as we were riding bikes to the Nevis Range for the World Cup DH race and right on the bike path. Groceries were available close by as well. Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay superb. Tom found out about local fishing regulations and also drove our bags to our next accommodations so we could bike unencumbered. The house isn’t big but full of charm. The use of the BBQ made it possible to make our own food and there was everything we needed. Fresh eggs were always available from the backyard chickens. We aren’t tall people so it the smaller entry ways weren’t a problem. We were also travelling light so there was room for the small rucksacks we had. Would definitely return.

We loved that we had our own garden, including some chickens where we could collect our own fresh eggs in the morning! It was just the perfect cosy place to unwind. Adding the view of the mountains; it was so dreamy!

Because of the rainy weather, a lot of our stuff got very wet. We didn’t really have the room to dry this, nor inside and outside. And some space underneath the bed would’ve been perfect to store the suitcases/bags.

it was a delightful ‘one off’ quaint wooden cabin with a lovely garden outside to eat in. great to laze in a hot Bath. great attention to presentation and the garden by the owners and super chickens in nearby lodgings.

a bit cramped inside for eating. Just a hot air fryer I didn’t know how to use - instruction book would help.

The Hobbit House is super cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Tom, the owner, made sure we had everything we needed and told us to give him a call if we needed anything else. Access to a BBQ was a definite plus. Within walking distance of grocery store and town. Great view.

Outstanding place - Tom has put so much thought into the construction of this property and it shows. The Hobbit House itself is so cosy and welcoming, the host left us teabags & sugar which I thought was a lovely touch. Privacy was amazing and even though you have 5 chickens as neighbours they are very well behaved and not at all noisy. It's a 5 min drive to the Boat of Caol which was on our list of things to do, amazing views of Ben Nevis all around the area and Steall Waterfall is a 20 min drive away so really great location.

No complaints at all

it’s unique and is in a lovely setting with lots of flowers and greenery. it really does look like a hobbit house and it’s private and peaceful. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The only caution I would have is that it’s truly hobbit-sized and we had to remember to duck when we entered.
