The place is in a safe location. The room was just as was shown on the pictures. Clean and every detail was thought of in case of loadshedding. The ceiling fan was strong enough to keep the place cool. Do not expect bathroom amenities.There was semi privacy.It was value for money. However, if you are sensitive to hosting skills,I would suggest that you factor that into your decision.

The hosting skills. I stood at the gate for a while,while the woman who was already getting into her car just stared at me. It is a long driveway. A good host would have called my cell just to make sure it was the person that they were expecting. As she was getting into her car, I realized I would have to call her as she was just staring at me. When her cell rang she opened by remote. When I pulled up she got into her car and I swear that I was invisible to her. Pieter asked " are you...) I confirmed and had to ask him who he was. Absolutely no welcome, no asking to help with my luggage ( I am an elderly lady).He showed me the room in a very offhanded way. I had to make 3 trips to my car whilst he was washing his van. Same story when I left..I had to haul in my suitcase as he just stood there...none of the "thank you and safe travels" etc. that one is so accustomed to from a good host. I had no problems with the dogs as mentioned by other reviewers but I carefully had to step over dog poo on the morning I left. I use booking .com for all my travels, even my overseas travels ( I am at genius level 3) and rely heavily on the reviews. I have stayed in Bloemfontein before with great hosting skills but wanted to try another place. How this place got a score of 8.5 (especially from people with my pigmentation type) is beyond my comprehension.

Basic, neat, clean and tidy. Perfect for a quick stopover. Lovely shower and the bed was super comfortable The swimming pool was a welcome blessing after a long day of driving.

The place is beautiful, clean and very refreshing.

The dogs and cats, on the website we not allowed to bring pets but they do have. Worse Dogs and cat were all over. My daughter has a phobia with dogs and cats, I asked the owner to lock the dogs inside and he thought it was all a joke. My daughter was locked in the room the whole time. She didn't even enjoy her swimming time as dogs were outside, had to pick her up and locked herself in the cottage.
