Loved the peace and quiet. Jacuzzi was a bonus

A cozy little hid away. The studio was clean and provided us with all our needs.

The jacuzzi is a great inclusion but may require future guests to use a chlorine float to prevent the water getting dirty, maybe even a filter system could be fitted. The pictures do not accurately depict the location of the studio, with the patio facing onto the neighbour's driveway it is a bit invasive and not as private as expected.

We liked the location because (as birders) the front yard was more in less in a "natural" or "wild" state - so we could bring in a few good birds using sound: at night the Southern White-faced Owl, and African Scops Owl being the two best...and Fiery-necked Nightjar. The larger mammals were around and a few feet away (Zebra, Kudu) and a quite large male Warthog - don't feed that one as it could be aggressive (and had lots of flies with it). But amazing to see a warthog so close and watch it walk on pavement with their small hooves. As for the house we rented: nice space; internet was 100% fine; stove good and refrigerator worked 100%; mini-split (heat pump) in bedroom and main room did air-con 100% fine (and most likely heat as well, but we were there in November in 30C temp - so would did not use heat). Hot water in sink and shower good...so all your basics work as you would want them. I'd say if you were a birder, this place would be good for you...especially if you like to cook, or need to have reliable internet...The Lodges in Kruger Park (we've stayed at all the camps north to south) are more expensive and not as well equipped (kudos to the owners who even had a hand blender for us to make smoothies). We liked our time here..place is good for a couple but beyond that make sure you are 100% comfortable with any other(s) before you go...And the owners are easily contacted, friendly and remain in touch. They were helpful. (But if the electricity goes out due to load shedding, make sure you know what the back-up battery power will power...and what it will not - make sure to ask!).

What we wish we knew in advance: the (very) small bathroom in the downstairs bedroom is almost next to the bed, and no door (a curtain), so you better know your partner very well. Upstairs bathroom larger, and a little more private (again a curtain), but climbing stairs was a pain in the middle of the night. If staying here do your shopping in the main town (Malelane SPAR - 30 minute drive) because the local Spar is more expensive and doesn't have a wide selection. Also, travel to the Crocodile Gate from the house is closer to 35 minutes than the 20 min you might read elsewhere (and I am a NYC driver who passes others with abandon).

The place was clean and tidy and perfectly located. Privacy was excellent.

The bottom bathroom could have been a little bigger, but the upper bathroom was excellent.

Location fantastic and loved feeding the animals.

There was nothing we didn’t like about it

The studio was neat and clean, the facilities were good and the bush babies that came to eat after sunset were the highlight of our stay.

We like to sit outside and enjoy the bush and animals, but unfortunately it was not possible during the day as the patio had almost no shade.
