South Shield's Hidden Gem Emerald Apartment sleeps 6 Guests

The location was awful, did not feel safe in the slightest and was extremely loud on evenings.

The flat was dirty, surfaces had not been wiped, bed was very uncomfy as well as being stained. Heating and hot water kept cutting out meaning some days the flat did not get warmer than 12 degrees.

The only thing that’s was nice was the bed room

I didn’t like the fact that the owner of the property charged my mum another £250 for a bond witch wasn’t stated on booking.com and when we got to the property the landing smelled of damp the top landing light didn’t work stains all over the carpets one of the bedroom light was flickering and also the living room light the bathroom window didn’t have a handle on it and the tv kept turning off every 15 minutes and plug sockets cracked definitely wouldn’t recommend staying there very disappointed!!!

It's a very good and quiet area. The apartment is sparkling clean. Very spacious. There are shops and bus stops around; Although, I can't give accurate information on this as I used my private car.

The only downside was the bathtub drain which was not functional. They have taken note and have promised to put it in order.

Located near Tyne Dock Metro station. Main bedroom was okay apart from broken power point that looked dangerous.

This property is substandard: broken power points (bedroom and kitchen) that looked dangerous; flickering lights and lights that didn't work; dank smell in entrance; filthy back stairs; clump of hair on bathroom wall; front door handle and bathroom window handle came off in our hands when we tried to open them; back door bolt very difficult to open, therefore unsafe in the event of emergency; broken glass in backyard; TV kept going blank; only one sink plug for kitchen, bathroom sink and bath (didn't fit all sinks); only one tea towel provided for a 6 day stay; insufficient toilet paper; I could go on. Tried to charge me twice for bond.
