Cosy One Bed City Apartment -The Hub

Really good location, right in the middle of the Hub, so lots of bars, shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Sainsbury's is right across the road. Parking included which was a positive, but it's almost like playing a game of which keysafe os the one you need. There is a full wall of them by the gate on one side, then a whole load more on the other side. It's a short walk to the apartment, there is a direct way from the car park to the apartment block, but again it's almost impossible to find (it's not signposted) but even going back out the main way, it's only a few minutes walk. The apartment block was easy enough to find, there were clearly some works being done to the apartment block, we weren't made aware of this, but it didn't affect us. There are a couple of lifts so getting up to a higher level was easy. Fyi, if you go to the minus floor, that's where the car park and rubbish bins are. Apartment was a relatively fair size and fairly clean. Outside noise was only heard on a Friday night, until around 3am (I left on the Saturday morning) but other than that, the location was pretty quiet overnight, which given the location, I thought was anticipated and fairly standard for a weekend mid centre.

Arrived at the apartment. There was no toilet roll at all in the apartment, also no dish cloth or sponge to use, and as the dishwasher didn't work, I obviously had to also purchase these. The bed is a metal framed one, it was relatively comfortable, but creaked loudly ever time you moved in it, so if you are a light sleeper, it's unlikely that you will get much quality rest. The bed also has wooden lats under the mattress. These aren't secured in any way at the foot of the bed, so the bed collapsed a few times. Even a heavy sleeper is unlikely to sleep through that! As I mentioned, the dishwasher didn't work, and neither did the oven hood. The switches for all of these were on the opposite wall. When I messaged about these not working I was asked to send a video. I did this, and the response was that they couldn't see all of the dishwasher. I videoed myself using the switches on the wall and on the dishwasher with no results and was told that they couldn't see the whole of the dishwasher, but then didn't tell me what else they needed to see (the inside maybe 🤷) and almost felt that I was being accused that nothing was working with their response. Alongside this, I waited over a week and had to message 2 or 3 times to chase up the return of my security deposit, for them to then ask for my bank details. So despite them saying on this site that they only put the payment in a 'hold', this clearly wasn't the case with mine. It's a shame that these things really let down what could be a really good apartment for a short stay, especially in such a good location. Almost as though there was no attention to detail. I've never stayed in a serviced apartment where the basics aren't provided for you, or at least you are given a heads up that they aren't, especially when paying for the apartment then the additional 'security deposit' on top.

Locate and apartment was perfect for our needs this weekend. I booked on the day and had no issues at all, other than with the SAT NAV. Definitely recommend watching the video link prior to arrival.

The apartment is tired inside and needs new furniture. The wifi is very intermittent! Beds very uncomfortable squeaky and small. All the taps in the apartment drip constantly
