Contucci Residenze d'Epoca

La cantina.

It was nice that they now provide breakfast. The restaurant is well known, but not particularly comfortable or friendly. The food was just okay. We have stayed at Palazzo Contucci three times in the last eight years. We love the location, and the palazzo is amazing. The location is wonderful!

The apartment was not very clean - floors were especially dirty. We were aware that no housekeeping is provided, but they do not even replenish towels! No one from this location spoke to us other than the person working in the enoteca who was quite rude - especially when we had a difficult time finding the parking. He treated us in a very inconsiderate manner, and offered no help. We wasted more than an hour trying to figure out the parking which had changed since our visit in 2022. During past stays at Contucci, we always ended our day with some wine at the enoteca....not this time!!! With absolutely no communication from the host, we just did not feel welcome. Sad to say, our visit to Montepulciano in 2025 will not include a stay at Palazzo Contucci.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Clean and comfortable with the added bonus of Xmas markets right outside our door. The breakfast which is included at the Cafe was also very good, the cafe is charming with it's art deco interior and great views.

Parking was hard to find and a long walk. Breakfast was again along walk with little variety.

Great location in the center of town. The apartment was spacious and charming.

We feel so fortunate that we had the opportunity to stay in this historic place. I was a little leery being right on the Piazza Grande, but it was great. The room was huge. We got this old key to open the old woo door (there is a modern secure door as well). The amenities were all modern, the kitchen appointed for some cooking with plenty of flatware and dishware. The people were just great. Very welcoming and friendly. Wine was amazing as well! I’m so glad we stayed.

The residenze exceeded our expectations. The large unit with 20' ceilings was palatial. You were in an impressive historic room , but had all modern amenities you could want. The place was also extremely well equipped and stocked with supplies. The location was excellent, right on the main square surrounded by other historic residences. The town itself was magical with breathtaking views of the countryside and seeped in local culture and cuisine. You need to walk a short way to the restaurant providing the breakfast, but the views make it worthwhile

The bed was two singles pushed together. It was not the most comfortable, nor were the pillows. Lots of up and down walking

Great location, room was big and decorated beautifully. Breakfast included at a lovely cafe nearby.
