Ideal location if planning to visit Nieu-Bethesda. We loved the peacefulness and rural character of the house. Fine old furniture and a very nice and private stoep with verandah and braai facilities.

The house was well appointed and comfortable.

The rooms are relatively dark, therefore there could be an improvement in bedroom lighting.

Lovely area, nice street to see the old houses though a bit dusty when cars driving up and down so it was not nice to sit in the front of the house. (But this has nothing to do with the host). 2 rooms are nice, comfy. 3rd room looks like it was just added later to the house with metal noisy roof (bat flying under the roof). Kitchen was very nice, all you need was there. Lovely sitting outside behind the house, too. The village is adorable but beware to check the program before you go to New Bethesda because shops/restaurants/activities are not open each day (some only 1 day a week).

The swimming pool was just a small water hole without a filter or floater. First day it was all dirty, second day the gardener changed the water in the afternoon, but we did not dare to get in any more. All the backdoors were disaster, you cannot properly close them, not even thinking about locking them. Very old wooden frames which are getting apart. First night the water was no problem. Second night the water in all the showers did not work, only the tap water in the sink worked. In the morning again no problem.

B E A U T I F U L !!! A place where you can just relax and meet donkeys and horses on your 'stoep" We've enjoyed our stay at this stunning place. peaceful place.. rest for the soul., everything was prefect. Had everything and more that was needed. We really did not want to leave.

Roomy home with everything you need. Lovely stoep and braai area. The splash pool was a joy to the kids. Walking distance to restaurants and sights. Quiet at night.

Consider packing an extra towel for the splash pool. You could use the bath towels which dried very quick.
