Alegria House

The apartment is very bright and spacious. Very-well equipped kitchen (all necessary things for cooking and serving). Qualitative textiles used (towels, also towels for the thermal bathing). Detailed instruction for the island observation(special book with all recommendations). Not far from the city centre( 10minutes walk). Grocery store is 3 minute walk. Possibly to leave the car on the street for free.

Very noisy (as it is on the direct path of landing/take-off of PDL AirPort , from 7am till 11pm) Quite cold(no heating possibilities) and wet. Old beds (to short for the persons with high of 1.8m+ “Down-town” area with all its features. Please be aware of using sink’s tap - it’s old and with a wrong functionality (check twice if it is cut off.

The host is extremely friendly and very helpful. The location of the apartment is very close to the city (walking distance).

There are planes flying maybe 50 - 100 meters above the house (the landing strip is very close) and it is VERY noisy all day around. The first planes start/land at 6.15 am and the last at 11.45 pm, so one only gets a very short break from the noise.

The host is very friendly and accommodating. The communication was easy and timely. We even had an option to store our bags in the office as the plane left late evening. The property is roomy with high ceilings and has good kitchen. We stayed for one week. It is easy walking distance to the center.

The main bed is small (I'm 183cm tall and it was a struggle to fit). Bathroom needs minor maintenance. The house is right under the flight path.

House was very clean and comfortable. Close to city center. Host was very pleasant and accomodating.

The bathroom shower water pressure. The toilet base was loose and perhaps resulted in a foul sewer smell. Once we kept the window open the smell disappeared. Towels were not replaced and so recommend a washer and dryer would be useful. Stairs were very narrow and steep so hard to carry heavy luggage up and down. Street parking was an issue due to narrow road and heavy congestion. We struggled every day to find a spot close by.This is a good place to stay for very short term stays and if you don't have a rental car and plan to walk , bus or taxi the island.Unfortunately, proximity to airport was a problem with planes flying overhead dsy and night.
