Excellent location, new building. It will be even better once they put to work the Pool bar and another bar in the lobby. Very well equipped. The attention of the manager was excellent, helping with all the details. I had no cash and she helped me to find an ATM in the neighborhood and waited for me to get the money.

They don't accept credit card payments. Since it is a new property and climate in Santo Domingo is too hot, they lacked some warm bedding, and the A/C was so cold that I felt cold the first night.

The apartment itself was as pictured, clean, spacious. The kitchen was stocked, the bed comfortable. The host was responsive.

The check-in process was a disaster, taking an hour because the host/owner couldn't figure out how to send a valid QR code, needed to gain entry past the reception on the ground floor in this building. When the host/owner was told by the receptionist to resend a valid QR code, someone angrily claiming to be the owner, called, asked to be put through to the receptionist, and starting yelling and threatening the poor girl who was simply doing her job. Within an hour, the host or owner finally resent the correct QR code and I was permitted to enter. Adding to this unpleasant check-in, the unit had no running water most of the day. The building's staff promised that whatever issue caused this was resolved and water would return by 7, 7:30. After repeated inquiries, I was told much the same: water will return within 30 minutes to 1.5 hours at most. The host sympathized with the situation but didn't really offer any solution other than to wait. Having no way to use the toiler, shower or sink all day can get on your nerves and I thought about leaving in the middle of the night to a hotel. Ultimately the water returned around 11pm. The building seems to be brand new, but several amenities were sort of half-assed or just unfinished. For instance, the gym has a smith machine, but no accompanying weights :/ IF check-in had gone smoothly and IF the apartment had running water throughout my stay, I might have considered returning. I like to think attention to detail - like ensuring that the kitchen china and utensils are well washed - are super important for client experience, but not having running water for an entire day is completely unacceptable in my view.
