Modern Beachfront 2 Bed Apartment 144 Eden on the Bay, Blouberg, Cape Town

The apartment was spacious and fully equipt with all appliances, crockery and linen/towels needed. I like the veranda with a little sea view and gas braai! Parking underground near lift makes for east access. I loved the location and amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very hard mattress in second room Bath towels could do with replacement Memory foam pillows were great but all extra pillows need replacement.

The location near the beach, variety of restaurants and a supermarket just underneath is wonderful. The pictures didn’t do justice to telling how beautiful the apartment is, its such a beautiful and homely packaged place. The children loved every day of being there, the unlimited wifi made their lives easier such that they mentioned it was the best thing we ever did for them…the both showers may do with soap holders. Should our path lead to the Cape we will definitely stay at 144 again.

The noise of the wheelie bins in the morning does make early waking up mandatory, only if the facility management can consider a thick enough artificial turf for their path. However that didn’t take away the experience

Location was fantastic.

Bedding was not that great. Duvet inner was terribly thin. Parking was great for check in. But if you left and returned and it was a sunny day the under ground parking is filled with general public. There is no allocated parking for people who are using the accommodation.

No sea view!

Booking.com quoted R5032 for our stay but failed to mention the R1000 breakage fee: the exorbitant amount of R800 for cleaning, plus a late arrival charge of R250. Whilst the apartment was very tastefully furnished and the bed comfortable, the apartment had many areas closed off. You certainly could not see the sea or beach and the entrance to the apartment was difficult to find once we had been out. There are all manner of staircases in the complex and strangely, there is no lift to the first floor... The biggest problem however, was the absence of heating in a Cape Town winter. The apartment was freezing cold, a facet compounded when the pre-paid electricity supply was off for 14 hours. While I tried all the numbers available to speak to someone, nobody answered my WhatsApp messages or phone calls. On Monday morning at 09h00, we managed to speak to someone in the office to report that we had no electricity. In an instant, the person gave my husband the code to punch into the meter and the lights were back on. When I complained by WhatsApp, there was no response which I think is completely unacceptable. Lastly, the person who came to collect the keys at the end of our stay, was more than 10 minutes late and we had to keep the shuttle driver waiting. I guess that sums it up...
