Schutzhaus Johannesbachklamm

The location is great, you go out from the house and you are at Johannesbachklamm. Apartment is huge, so you have enough space for all your things. Owner is nice too, so we enjoy our stay.

The road to get there is not paved and it is not easy to reach, because when you drive there you must be careful if you meet another car. Furthermore, I would suggest some improvement when it comes to cleaning. Baterries in bathroom are from calc, shower and floors could be also cleaner and I could smell cigarettes in the house. Otherwise, I recommend this place for staying because there are more positives than negatives..thank you

A house in the middle of a forrest surrounded by beautiful nature. The house lies next to a river and just hundred meters away from the entrance point to an idylliic ravine. If you like hiking, even the 60 min walk from the train station through the forrest to the accomodation is very pleasant.

Compared to what the accommodation looked like in pictures, in reality it was actually much better. The space looks renovated and well kept. It is not luxury stay, but for a price we booked it for it was quite decent. It is located deep in the forest and there is nice stream running nearby. Unit was relatively clean and equipped. Furniture is simple yet functional. I would not hesitate to stay again. Last ~400m of approach road is not paved, but it is doable by any car, even with a car with low clearance. The road is quite narrow, drive slowly. Directions: Arriving from Vienna direction, you need to navigate town Greith and approach to the accommodation from there (basically from west - see attached screenshot).

Since the place is quite remote and not that easy to reach, I think it would make sense if it has a bit better explanation on how to reach the place by car, if I would not go through all reviews and figure out the approach from there, I would struggle to get there, which does not add to the experience. So for this reason I will try to attach a screenshot from maps on how to reach the place by a car. The unit was clean, but there were few essential spots missed.

It is farther inside the woods than I thought, getting there is a bit adventurous but we got there and it is a nice place altogether. Great start for hiking.
