Extremely friendly host. She took my aunt and showed her garden. It was a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Very comfortable bed. Cosy sit out. 10 min drive to Sidney and 10 minutes to the ferry. 15 min from teh airport.Great ambience and atmosphere.

Beautiful, quiet location and located near Sidney for easy access to restaurants, shops and hiking trails.

Everything’s great here

No breakfast but host was happy to provide some cream and milk, fruit, cereal and snacks and fresh flowers. The suite is walk in level, not a basement and it did not feel dark. It was spotless, well thought out and very well equipped including an ironing board and small electric fireplace; it had everything one could want for basic meal prep. Temperature control and other mechanicals worked well; the whole suite was warm and cozy.

A car is needed in this area (no problem for us since we had one) it is in a residential neighborhood down a rather long roadway, surrounded by forest but vegetation is not so close it feels dark. It is close to the ferry terminal (10-15 minute drive).

It was in a lovely rural setting, surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature. The host was great at communication. The unit was very clean. There were lovely cut flowers on the table and a bow of fruit which we appreciated. There were lots of snacks available and the ability to prepare light meals if needed. Parking was right outside the front door.

It wasn’t a dislike, but a suggestion… there needs to be a place to hang clothing in the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were in a basket on the floor of the shower. Most places that we stay have a dispenser mounted to the wall of the shower, they are easier to use, more sanitary and reduce the use of plastic (more eco friendly). I use glass jars and go to a eco refillery and refill the dispenser as needed.

The hideaway is located in a green residential area near the ferry in Swartz bay. It had everything you need. A short drive from Butchart’s gardens and approx 35 mins from downtown Victoria. You do need your own car. It is very quiet (except for the horn of the ferry boat). There were fresh flowers and a fruit platter on arrival. The hosts live on the property.
