Agutí Apartment

Madelyn was a fabulous hostess, always available and helpful (especially with helping us get around) and very sweet. The unit was clean, and cleaning schedule was perfect. Requests for extra towels and blanket were gladly accommodated. Kitchen facilities were good, with everything you needed. There is an extra bunk above one bed compared to the photos. Hanging rod for clothes and large shelves in the bedroom gave a great place to keep all our things out of the way; hangers were also provided. Fan in the kitchen was very useful for drying wet items. Soap and shampoo being provided was very helpful. Location was walkable to the top of the main strip, and near convenience store (super joseth), souvenir shop and decent cheap soda options (soda is a cheap local eatery!) and ice cream place. Great value for a clean unit and a hostess I'd highly recommend.

Very minor concerns at most include: -No couch or living room per se, so we hung out in the bedroom mostly, but it made it difficult to hang out with friends or family in the unit. We mostly went to their place. -Shower was open, so water often escaped onto floor (more of an issue with an energetic kid!) -Additional storage in bathroom would have been useful as the counter top was quite small. At the time of our visit, there was no shelving over the toilet or attached to the walls. Some hooks on the bathroom door would have also been helpful. -Air conditioning was limited to the bedroom - probably not a concern if you liked the heat like my hubby, but my kid and I stayed in the bedroom, rather than at the kitchen table, which we only went to if we were eating. -Hooks on the back of the bedroom door and in the kitchen area would be helpful as we had to drape towels and bathing suits over the chairs in front of the fan to dry in time for next outing. -There was a screen was over the bathroom window, but none on any other windows - we had to close them to control mosquitoes but would have preferred to have more airflow.

Madelyn was an excellent, attentive, and friendly host. She was very helpful with everything in Manuel Antonio. The apartment was spacious and really clean with a balcony. It was close to the big supermarket, Super Joseth, the bus stop for the beach, and casual restaurants. Staff cleaned the apartment every other day! Highly recommend this apartment.

There is no hot water in the bathroom and kitchen sinks. An inconvenience in some of the apartments in Costa Rica. Also, although not their fault, there is a rusted, burned out car on the street by them that detracts from a good neighborhood feel.

The apartment was quite larg and nicely laid out and it wasn't located too far from a supermarket, restaurants and the beach, by car. Our host Madelyn was superb. She was was quick in responding to our messages. We stayed there 4 nights and although it wasn't necessary, our bedsheets and towels were changed every two days. The AC, fridge and stove work really good. The stove was a bit tricky to get started at the beginning, since we weren't familiar with conviction stoves. There's parking on the street and on the property but it tight to park on the property. We really enjoyed our stay at Aguti Apartments and will certainly stay there again.

There wasn't much choices in kitchen cooking utensils. Just the bare minimum. It would have been nice to have a grater for cheese but I managed with a knife and a couple of things not worth complaining about.

For the price this is a fantastic place to stay. The public bus is nearby which takes you either to the beach or to nearby town Quepos, so there's really no need to pay more for a place nearer the ocean.

It is full home equipment. You have all to cook your own meals, and help you to save some money.
