The location

The host could be more friendly, courteous and responsive. On the phone he sounds rushed and abrasive. A case in point, I booked for a guest on the 15-17 March on a self-catering unit. I supplied my guest with supplies for breakfast, including muesli contained in a cereal jar. He thought it belonged to the establishment and left it behind when checking out. Twice I have called the owner to collect this jar and on both occasions, he promised to get back to me. It is now a month later and I am still waiting. He keeps claiming that he is waiting for his cleaner to identify the item, whereas it is right there in the room that my guest used.

The yard was big and beautiful, the room that I had booked was also beautiful and it had everything that I needed. The place was near restaurants, transport was accessible.

The room had a smell of mold because it was in a basement and there was no proper ventilation, the footsteps noise from the house was deafening and I barely slept at night, the ceiling was too low I could knock on it, it was as if the owner had a wooden floor. The toilet and basin weren't clean. TV wasn't working. The cushions smelt bad, it was as if they hadn't been washed. The yard smelled of dog poo, and therefore opening windows was a nightmare.
