The Walmer Oasis

The host met us, and gave us the keys to the property. They also accommodated both kids with a bed. As well as a very nice welcome basket with fresh fruit, and snacks for the kids. Residence was Clean, and nice clean towels.

We did not like that the braai facilities, was on the owners side of the property. I do suggest that the owner provide either a weber, or a small braai at the residence, instead of people having to braai on the owners side. Also, from the pictures it looks like we had more privacy but that was not the case. There was rats in the roof, running around at night. The shower didn't work, so we could only bath. There was no wine opener in the residence. I would suggest that they do something about the mould smell in the place. All and all it was a good stay.. This is just suggestions for the owner.

The hosts were absolutely great, and there were some special touches - eg cappuccino machine, fruit bowl

There are opportunities for improvement- eg further address the damp in walls; repair cold tap in bathroom sink, replace very creaky bed in lounge.

Host was super friendly and helpful, we spent a long time talking about our common running background. Nothing was too much trouble, including helping me with a charger cable for my phone i had left at home. On arrival there was a fruit basket and snacks, milk and bottled water in the fridge for the provided coffee/tea, making it super convenient.
