Tout était parfait! l'appartement, la terrasse, la vue, l'emplacement, le calme et surtout la merveilleuse hospitalité des hôtes, un grand merci Charis et Maria d'avoir rendu notre séjour si plaisant.

Everything was excelenct. The view is breathtaking and the apartment is cosy with everything you could need. Hosts are very welcoming and kind.

The question, What did I like??? The answer — EVERYTHING!! From the first meeting of the hosts to the last goodbye, I felt like an honored guest. The wife, Maria, speaks English so all of the essential information was given by her. She had some homemade cakes and cookies waiting especially for me in my apartment. There was no air conditioning, but I was there during an extremely hot period in Crete and because of the way the apartment is built, cool breezes came through the rooms and frankly, I never thought about air conditioning until I started writing this review. Perhaps it will be important to some, but I think it’s a “non-issue!” The location is remote of the village as it is located quite high up the hill above the town. It has a commanding view of the mountainous surroundings as well as a nice view of the sea from the cool, shaded balcony in front of the apartment. Each morning I was asked if I needed anything by her husband (Hali?) as he handed me a cappuccino he brought down especially. He speaks such little English, and I no Greek so I think we both enjoyed the morning visits; every day with a coffee for me and a beautiful time attempting to communicate. One morning he came with a cappuccino and a huge Crème Brûlée Maria had made for me. I tell ya...it was like I was a long lost family member who returned. The place was bright, clean, perfectly supplied, beautiful, well equipped and very roomy. A family could stay here easily because of the large living space but the child would sleep on the sofa. For many, that would be no problem at all. There is a washing machine, too. On my last day, I planned to walk down to the town along the old road to the village/town (about 10 minutes) Hali would not permit me, even though I protested that I only had a carry-on piece of luggage. He dropped what he was doing and happily took me where I was going and, parting with a big hug and handshake.

The only tiny detail I’d want, if it was my home, would be a light over the kitchen sink. But there is a good possibility I didn’t find the switch !
