Huis Afrika

Aircon did not work. Had to sleep with sliding door open.. Parking very poor for big vehicles like bakkies.

Beds were comfy, undercover parking. Easy access in and out of property. Friendly host. Close to venue and shops.

I chose Huis Afrika because of the pool. The pool is dirty and green. Bathroom handle broken and hanging on 1 screw upon arrival. Shower you had to put on hot only for warm water. Sliding door couldn't lock properly. Had to wash your dishes outside, no sponge and watery soap. I gave up and bought my own mug and paper plates. Just didn't have the energy with the full days we already had to have to ask for assistance.

Easy to come and go. Friendly host and dogs 🐕 greeting you every day. Comfy beds

Having a basin in the bathroom and not a dual as wash basin for cups and plates too. Basin was very high to reach if brushing your teeth. But this was a minor issue

The host very friendly and easy to communicate with. The rooms were very neat . It was very cold but we loved that our beds had electric blankets.😊

The shower cubicle needs to be improved because water flows all over the place to the toilet and we had to scrub the floor everytime. The shower head needs to be fixed.

Amenities were acceptable

The guests, they were treated really badly and the owner refused to reason with us, no matter what we tried. There was only one additional child and we were willing to pay for the child’s stay. They were ladies with kids who were kicked out of accommodation 3hours away from home in the evening. The owner refused to assist or even to listen to reason. My guests felt victimised and the owners husband was also rude to them and got angry to a point that the ladies were afraid and left out of fear How is it possible that a guest house for families can keep dogs, not just any dogs but pit bulls and expect guests with kids to enjoy the facilities that they boast about? The light that was damaged is possibly R250 and we were willing to pay for it and get a refund for the night that we did not sleep there but the owner refused point blank. The cushion that got wet can be dried on the washing line in the sun, as is done every time they wash them.  The noise they are referring to is two ladies talking and laughing inside their room. I hardly understand how that can be referred to as noise disturbance  The guest house owner is not concerned about the guests best interests and it is horribly unfortunate that we have to pay so much per night to be treated in this manner and still to be kicked out in the evening with kids and no concern by the owner. So far away from home
