Villasabella 2 Apartments

Posizione centralissima, vicina a molte attrazioni, supermercati, ristoranti e fermate dei mezzi pubblici. La struttura è accogliente e ben fornita, e i padroni di casa si sono sempre prestati ad aiutarci con consigli sull’isola e interventi quando sono stati necessari. La casa inoltre viene pulita ogni giorno. Siamo davvero soddisfatte.

The Apartment was very clean and the location was no more than 10 minutes from the Ferry stop and right in the centre of town with bars, restuarants, shops and supermarkets

When we arrives we were confronted by a very steep staircase leading to the first floor apartment with no landing at the top! I had to juggle a suitcase on the top step whilst playing with the lock keys. This set the tone for the rest of the experience. Then leaving at night there was no light switch at the top of the staircase and so had to leave a light on inside the apartment, go down the steps, push the timer switch, go back upstairs, turn off the light, lock the door and get back down before the switch went out. Dangerous and not fun!! When inside I noted that there was only an a/c unit in the Living room. I contacted the owner and expressed my disappointment. She said that the pictures on Booking.com of the bedroom didn't show an A/c unit and anyway there is windows front and back of the Unit. It is end August in a very hot European summer and if it is hot enough to put on the A/c then I would not be opening the windows and so this argument fell rather flat!! The pictures on Booking.com were not conclusive either way and included pictures of other rooms in her other Apartments. It should have said A/c-in Living Room only. She said her Cleaner would drop off a fan and she did. However, the fan was very noisy and so we had the choice of a stuffy Bedroom or trying to sleep over a very noisy fan, a choice I did not expect to have to make paying E172/night. The most expensive accommodation we have paid for so far in Europe. As we were staying 6 nights I thought that we would treat ourselves and pay top rate but instead of getting treated we got disappointed!! The description said there was a Balcony and there was, however, instead of having a flyscreen doors it was a flyscreen rollup verticle blind with a very fiddly locking mechanism and I was concerned that the screen would rip and so we didn't use the Balcony!! The Booking.com description said there was a safe, however, there was no safe!!

no washing machine to wash clothes

We LOVED the cleaning lady. She made everything so nice and cleaned up the kitchen and washed our dishes. We had no idea she would do that. We were rushing our first morning out and when we came back dishes cleaned. It was super close to the port to catch the ferry, close to many restaurants and bakeries and really close to the airport. The communication with the host was phenomenal

Like we mentioned to the host it would have been a nice touch to have been provided beach towels and better wifi speed. Other than that this was place was great for all types of traveller's
