The street is theoretically very quiet though this was ruined by maintenance works during the day, drilling and sawing, and a lack of privacy from people walking around and working on scaffolding beside the only windows. There were quiet periods in the flat but they were hard to bank on and plan around. It’s very handy for everything nearby while being sheltered from traffic and local ambient noise. It’s a lovely street and proximity to the beach is one of the best features. I found the bed comfortable (though extra bedding would’ve helped) and the place mostly suitable for my needs. The couch is comfy enough too. There’s enough room to spread out your stuff on the small dining table and fireplace shelf. A blind/curtain on the kitchen window would an improvement for privacy. I was really in two minds about this place as I did like it in spite of a few issues that disrupted my enjoyment of the stay. I left not being able to rule in or out going back as it had pros and cons. I wouldn’t necessarily discourage people from booking as if you don’t need a bath and aren’t sound sensitive it could be a nice place for you. The hosts are easy to deal with and check in and out by lock box is similarly straightforward. Check out times are generous and flexible. Host communication was good.

There was a lot of construction work going on outside including opening and painting of my window while I was in my bed. As it’s a studio the fumes were permeating the area. It was also a breach of privacy and quite uncomfortable. There’s no blind on the kitchen window and a mirror facing the bed so I felt I couldn’t just be in the property during maintenance working hours. As I was unwell and injured I had no choice but to put up with it. The bath doesn’t work as it’s not plumbed in but the property comes up in search results for baths and it says in the advert there’s bath, which I required, so I think that needs to be clarified. There was also some neighbour noise from music in the evenings. It was predictably unpredictable. It wasn’t terrible or constant but it wasn’t ideal either.

The duvet was far too warm for the time of year. There were no BBC channels on the TV.
