Sant Mateu 30 min to Barcelona next beach

Super good location for our stay; Only a few minutes walk to the train station and trains towards Barcelona goes quite often (google knows timetables). If you like beaches, that is likewise as near as the rails, long sandy sunbathing beaches all along the coast 😊 Also many stores around to shop for necessities like food, water, ice cream, soda, etc. 😁 The electronic phone controlled door locks were a nice positive surprise, easy to use, just remember to have enough battery in your phone to last the day, so maybe take a power bank with you 😅

Only a minor negative: The AC in the living room was very effective, but due to the layout of the apartment with a longish corridor from the living room to the bedrooms, it couldn't really cool down the sleeping area, but it wasn't too bad anyway, and the floor fan helped to get them a little more cooled down. (Don't leave the bedroom windows open, if you're disturbed by noise. The cats and pigeons can be unbelievably loud in the early morning hours 😅😅)

Pagamos 1.800 euros por este alojamiento y sinceramente el estado del piso era deplorable. Al llegar encontramos pelos de perro por todo el suelo, cuando ni siquiera viajábamos con mascota, y además el apartamento no tenía aspiradora. Lo más grave fue descubrir un diente humano dentro de la lavadora, algo totalmente repugnante e inaceptable. Las placas de cocina estaban sucias, el horno asqueroso, los engranajes del mueble del baño podridos y el colchón lleno de manchas. La terraza es minúscula, con cubos sucios amontonados y sin ningún tipo de cuidado. En la cocina apenas hay utensilios útiles: los cuchillos son o de untar mantequilla o de pescado, imposible cocinar en condiciones. Para tender la ropa, como muestra la foto, esta oxidado y no se puede colgar la ropa correctamente, se caen a trozos. Las ventanas de la cocina y del baño solo dan a unas rejas sucias y oxidadas que no dejan pasar luz. Las fotos del anuncio no reflejan en absoluto la realidad: el piso es oscuro, las vistas son a montones de basura y el conjunto es una auténtica decepción. Lo alquilé para mis abuelos y me parece una vergüenza que un alojamiento en estas condiciones se ofrezca en esta plataforma. Por el precio que cuesta, lo mínimo sería un espacio limpio, cuidado y honesto. Muy decepcionada.

The location. Very close to the station and the sea

The flat is very cold. It was fairly clean but the bed linen was way past its days, I asked to be changed but never happened. Internet never worked, despite being promised it would be fixed

Location, we've really enjoyed a location - not so many tourists mainly local/Spanish people. Train station very close, perfect for our trips to Barcelona. Kind and nice people everywhere. Bakery and supermarket 50 m distance. Stable WI-FI.

Unfortunately the apartment. All the comments from previous quests are mainly true. We didn't expect much and knew the price wasn't very high. But still ... terrace is none, it's difficult to sit there. Kitchen equipment ... would like to see the owner preparing the lunch/dinner for family with such an equipment. No oven was big minus - you can't prepare so many great fishes we've found in CANDIS supermarket. Frying pans so small ... really ... I don't have such size in my kitchen ... because why should I have. Cleaning ... so I bought all the needed powders because there was nothing. I needed to do everything by myself ... no cleaning service, even towels were not changed. I've bought toilet papers, broomstick, garbage bags (I don't see any rationale to use 120l bags for daily use as was recommended). Rooms --- you should sleep in bedrooms but it was almost impossible because without AC and very small windows it was too hot there - ventilator wasn't helping as it was only circulating the dust and heat (and kids got sick because of this). And the ventilator 50 cm from kids head .. on upper bed ... seriously? TV is useless until you don't speak Spanish, but that's fine, our plan wasn't to watch TV. Long story short ... I am trying to be positive as we really enjoyed the vacation ... but the fact is it wasn't because of the apartment.
