Casa d'Avó

Great apartment, spacious, well equipped with everything you need. The beds were comfortable. Very well organized bathroom/toilet space. The communication with our host was easy and helpful. We got restaurant recommendations and when we visited one of the places it had super delicious food. In the morning a black cat visited and demanded to be fed - it was cute, and stayed in front of the apartment door,waiting.We fed her of course.

There were a lot of cats in the streets, so it did not smell well at some parts of the neighbourhood - nothing in the hands of our host anyway. The cats were friendly.

There was no breakfast, but coffee and bottled water was provided.

Very well equipped. Great cute little find. Host was fantastic and gave lots of information. Bed was super comfy and lovely and warm. Parked right outside. Great offering on the short term let.

Next door had a little caged bird I could hear chirping all night. The bird I didn't mind, the neighbour caging it for life I did.

We loved our stay at Casa d'Avó, we arrived at 22pm and the host was waiting for us. He explained everything about the flat and the area. There is coffe, tea and cold water available on arrival, which is priceless when you have just arrived (specially at night when everything is closed). The flat was clean and very well equipped, it even has the manuals for each appliance! and there is a folder with lots of useful information including taxi numbers, what to do in Miranda etc (the host also recommended an excellent taxi driver who picked us up early in the morning to go to Coimbra to catch the train). The views are stunning and the location is very convinient, close to the center of town and all the amenities. As a bonus , you can have free grapes from the tree at the entrance , the host even harvested some for us, delicious!!!!

The mattress was a bit firm for our backs/liking but that is something that could be great for other people.

Cosy appartment located outside touristic routes. Friendly & helpful owner.
