Plumtree Farm

We were very kindly welcomed to our accommodation. The apartment is lovingly furnished and in the kitchen everything was available for the first coffee in the morning as well as fresh eggs from the farm. The view over the garden with a small lake to the mountains particularly underscored the aroma of the morning coffee.

The outside area was filthy, bird muck everywhere,couldn’t sit on the outside area as table and chairs filthy. The bed was small and cobwebs hanging above it. The bathroom door had got stuck so we had to get the manager who climbed through the window to try and free it but couldn’t so had to unscrew the bolt for us to use the bathroom. we couldn’t get hold of him anytime by phone so had to leave the room and searched for him, all happened when we were ready for bed and needed to use the bathroom. 4.30am the dogs started barking followed by the birds making horrendous noises on the roof which was so loud! sleep was impossible. Got up to have a shower but also dirty so didn’t bother, had coffee and left by 6am. The manager promised a full refund but as yet have heard nothing. Clear glass in the bathroom door is not acceptable for UK people, we understand SA are ok with this and except it in houses on Airbnb (as long as there is another closed bathroom) but in a hotel or guesthouse it is not acceptable, we like privacy, as do many people.
