Logement très agréable très bien entretenu avec toutes les commodités. On s’y sent comme à la maison. Cristina est une hôte très agréable et arrangeante avec plein de bons conseils. Nous reviendrons certainement.

The host's unwillingness to cooperate ruined our stay!

For the first 2 days there was an unbearable construction noise coming from the upper floor (we stayed for 3 nights). All day concrete drilling and loud banging, you couldn't even hear yourself talk in a normal volume. My baby daughter was totally overwhelmed by it and couldn't sleep properly. As I commented that I would not rent the property to anyone if there was such an unbearable noise, the host said she didn't know there was going to be any noise. Well, as probably almost everywhere in the world, also in Portugal you need to inform the inform the condominium and the other property owners about an upcoming construction. That said there is no way she didn't know about it. During the last night the fridge had turned off. We figured out it was the fuse and turned it back on just to see it turn off again suggesting a circuit overload from the damaged fridge. I informed the host about it in the morning. We lost a lot of food because the fridge had been turned off probably the entire night. We had to throw away our breakfast and lunch for our last morning and my daughter's food for the travel that we had prepared in advance. I suggested the host that she would compensate 25 euros for the food we lost (we had to buy and prepare everything again which also completely changed our plans for the last morning). While previously the host had replied to my messages within 3-4 minutes, now she PRETENDED NOT TO HAVE SEEN IT. She came in for our check-out and I asked if she had seen the message, which she said she had not. I explained that 25 euros would be a reasonably amount considering fridge is an essential thing to have in an apartment, we lost all the food, had to prepare everyhting again and didn't get to enjoy our last morning as we'd like to. She said she would first check what was up with the fridge and then get back to me. I questioned how she would then return the money to me and she agreed to make an international transfer to my bank.
