Anchorage Waterfront Retreat

This place was a little tricky to find as the map sent us across the road from the accommodation into “Enchanted Woods”. But a few passes by and finally we found it. When you arrive pull into the garage, where there is 1 car space for guests, and the entrance to the apartment is through the door in the garage. The ground floor has a large bedroom with an ensuite then upstairs is an open plan kitchen, living and dining room with a laundry, second bathroom and toilet (separate room), then there is an even larger bedroom next to that. There is a little deck upstairs and a larger one downstairs which I think is shared with the main house (where the owners live). The apartment is really lovely with superb water views. There is a pool, a spa and a sauna but we didn’t use them. I awoke in the early morning to gentle rain falling and was greatful for the cosy comfortable bed. This place is SO lovely.

Needs a thorough clean. A cursory glance all is good, but it doesn’t take much to see it is not clean

the apartment was very comfortable and cosy and very welcoming. The views are beautiful out over the water and the garden. Everything we needed was provided and arriving to freshly baked treats and new season apples was a lovely touch. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the electric blanket so we could pre warm the bed, these Tassie temperatures make that a necessity. The apartment felt like home with it’s comfortable furnishings and tasteful artwork.

Our only concern was that the house is in a tricky spot to find at night when the traffic is travelling at 80 kph. Perhaps a sign 100 meters to either side of the driveway might help, it is easier in daylight but in the dark we found it difficult. Otherwise we have only the highest praise for the Anchorage.

Convenient to airport, especially when evening flight was delayed.

Despite 4 trys no my phone calls to the hotel were not answered. Neither was my message sent via web site.
