"Positives und Negatives"

Die Lage der Wohnung in der Nähe des Bahnhofs ist sehr gut und auch das Parken an der Straße war problemlos. Ein- und auschecken waren dank des Schlüsseltresors ebenfalls optimal, wir konnten die Wohnung auch schon eher nutzen.. Der Kontakt per Whatsapp funktionierte tadellos. Unsere Räder konnten wir auf der Terrasse sicher abstellen. Die Terrasse mit dem bequemen, hübschen Mobiliar haben wir an den warmen Abenden sehr genossen. Die Grundausstattung ist einigermaßen ok- Putzmittel und Körperpflegeutensilien sind im Übermaß vorhanden.

Bei der Küchenausstattung ist Luft nach oben, es fehlt z.B. eine zweite Pfanne, ein mittelgroßer Kochtopf, eine vernünftige Salatschüssel etc.. Die Beleuchtung über dem Herd im Dunstabzug funktionierte nicht und von den 4 Birnen der Deckenleuchte waren zwei ausgebrannt. Die Möblierung im Wohnraum íst spartanisch (was man natürlich schon in der Beschreibung sehen konnte) die Couch ist zum Sitzen unbequem, der Fernseher sehr klein und das Programm (Netflix etc) angebotsmäßig auch nicht so überzeugend . Ärgerlich war, dass die Schrankfächer vollgestopft waren mit Bettwäsche, Handtüchern und dergleichen und wir uns erst mal Platz schaffen mussten für unsere Wäsche, T-Shirts usw. Das Preis-Leistunsverhältnis hat uns enttäuscht, denn wir haben sehr viel Bookingcom-Erfahrung.

The apartment was affordable, in particular as other rental prices in the region exploded due to the upcoming European soccer championships. Interaction with the host and pick-up of keys (key box) was efficient. The apartment is just between a residential and an industrial area; it was surprisingly quiet and very close to both greenery (Bruchwald, Enz river) as well as the nearest supermarket, the railway station (if you need it; we traveled by car) and the city center. A dedicated parking lot was available just around the corner (there also is free parking along the road, but it was fully occupied at times by commuters working in the nearby industrial area). Laundry facilites were available in the basement, including permanently-installed drying lines (much more convenient/efficient than trying to dry clothes inside the apartment). The caretaker of the apartment complex was friendly and patiently explained the waste separation rules to us, which was helpful as the rules vary by region and waste separation as such may be a foreign concept to visitors from environmentally less progressive countries. It would be great if this information could be included in the instruction panel located inside the apartment. I am highlighting this as non-adherence could lead to problems for the entire apartment block (penalties or waste not being collected), which may trigger complaints and pressure authorities to take action against short-term rental apartments which certainly isn't in the interest of booking.com hosts or guests.

Some of the furniture was quite wobbly and could do with some maintenance (tightening bolts). (The host promised to fix this, so hopefully this is fine now.) Internet connectivity (apparently via DSL) slowed to a crawl during peak hours (>50% packet loss in the morning/early evening), though this might be due to infrastructure limitations common to the neighbourhood. Not a big problem for us as we were on vacation, but if you travel for work be prepared. While we didn't care too much (being mostly out during the day), note that the bedroom/living room windows of the ground-level unit face a major parking lot and the living room windows and terrace face the common access path to the other blocks/flats in the apartment complex. This may qualify the sunny location of the apartment somewhat by having to pull down the roller shutters/blinds for privacy.
