Marienbad Apartment

The apartment was as described, certainly worth the money, comfortable, clean and spacious, the location was very good (although that is subjective, of course). Overall, a nice apartment worth staying at.

Surprisingly, the communication with the host turned out to be the only noticeable problem. Since I was travelling with my teenage daughter, perhaps I was more sensitive than the situation required. Firstly, the lady that met us at the apartment spoke no English whatsoever, which made it somewhat difficult -- despite the description stating that English is one of the two 'available' languages. Secondly, the host demanded payment in cash, which was her right, but outright refused even to acknowledge the difficulties I would have experienced as a result, in my particular circumstances, and make any accommodations. She only talked about money and didn't answer any of my questions; it could have been because she considered me to be 'a very bad man', as the host put it. Lastly, no invoice was provided in exchange for the payment and only after I refused to part with the money until I get one the invoice was sent by email later in the evening. Still, I believe it to be a result of a very unfortunate set of circumstances and coincidences and wish the host every success.

The location is right in the center of the town in an old building with high roof. You just cross the street and reach the Kolonade park and in 5 minute slow walk find the mineral water springs. At the downstairs it is a minimarket were you can find a lot of food and beverages.

The kichen has basics facilities including microwave, but not a real oven. The dishwasher is somehow blocked on the economy program and it was out of order. The owner bring a man that repair it, but only the economy program works. The apartment was unheated before our arrival and it takes a couple of days to reach a confortable temperature. The heater in the bedroom was working just half of the capacity and because of the high ceiling it was cooler then the living. In the description of the facilities was mentioned a laundry washing machine that it didn't find it, the owner has told us that is out of order and will not be repaired until we were there. Maybe the other apartment of the property has a washing machine, but we can't wash our laundry during the stay.
