Tall Trees Margaret River

The location was great and the apartment was clean upon arrival.

The apartment felt pretty small, especially the living room, and the bed was on the smaller side too. My biggest issues were that there was no proper dining table or chairs to eat at, and no freezer. It was a real hassle not being able to store frozen food, ice or ice cream. It might also be helpful to review the instructions and house rules; I found them to be very prescriptive and not particularly welcoming. Unfortunately, it wasn't the most enjoyable stay.

We stayed at Tall Trees during our Margaret River trip, and it was exactly the kind of retreat we needed. The first thing that struck us was how quiet and serene the place felt, surrounded by towering trees and birds chirping, yet just a short walk to the main street for coffee, restaurants, and shops. The apartment itself felt like a little home in the woods. Clean, well-kept, and cosy, with a super comfortable bed and a bathroom. We also loved having a washer and dryer, which is such a bonus when travelling.

What we didn’t love as much was how quiet the area gets at night. There are no streetlights along the way back, so if you’re walking after dark, it can feel quite isolated. That said, it’s perfect if you’re after a peaceful, early-night kind of stay.

It was a lovely and warm unit, exactly what we needed and it it was just up the road from the shops.

Location was great. Property was new. Key access was easy. Washing machine and dryer fantastic

Floor was really wet when we arrived and puddle in corner. No oven. No freezer in the fridge. Could have done with a small round table to sit at to eat rather than on lounge with tray tables. Lounge room was comparatively small compared to rest of unit so no room unless armchair taken away which would be fine. Window in kitchen leaked in the rain down the wall and across the one power point then onto the floor. Towel was stained.

It was modern and reasonably maintained.

For starters there was no table and chairs to eat at - tray tables do not cut it. Outdoor eating at a high table and bar stools are not appropriate particularly during the cooler months. The advertising indicated cooking facilities so it would be reasonable to assume you would have a table and chairs to eat at. Cooking facilities included a cooktop and microwave but no oven. There was a bar fridge with no freezer. The garage was not available and with the property close to the road it was not ideal for parking clear of the roadway. Communications from Swell Stays were expressed in an abrupt manner similar to that used to reprimand small children. We did not feel welcomed by this.

Well equipped, self-contained apartment within easy 5 minute walk of the centre of Margaret River. Very clean, quiet and birds galore in the trees.

We both loved the environment. The tall trees were indeed a pleasure with many different birds in the trees. We had a Kookaburra visit one morning and several No 28 birds visit. We were only a short walk to a local Italian eating place. We also chanced meeting the owner who was very friendly. So would we recommend this place, absolutely, but you would need to book well ahead of time if you have a particular date in mind.

Perfect for our two-night stay in Margaret River. Less than 5 min walk to main street, very comfortable and practical layout, great verandah looking out over the tall trees and birdlife. Clean and comfy bed. Great having washing machine and dryer to catch up on domestic duties! In a very well-presented street with nice homes.

Living area was small. A small dining table would be nice as I was wanting to do some writing.
