Communal staircase to get to the apartment could do with a clean

Charming apartment. You can arrive at any time as there is a self check-in box to collect the keys. Easy communication with Loredana via WhatsApp before and during our stay. If you come by car, there is a large covered parking just a few minutes away, outside the ZTL zone. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need - except maybe a dishwasher for longer stays. The washing machine really saved my day though! Parasol to borrow for a long day at the beach. Close to everything, but hey, in Ortigia everything is close! I definitely recommend this place!

There was a plastic can collecting drainage water from two of the air conditioners, which had to be emptied a few times a day. It would definitely be smoother with a proper drainpipe setup - just like the other AC units. The tap water is drinkable but does taste a bit salty, so I recommend to buy bottled water. Every now and then, you’d catch a whiff of damp stone and a hint of mildew, both in the stairwell and inside the apartment. While this might be expected in an old seaside house, it wasn't particularly bothersome, and a quick breeze through the open windows usually did the trick!

This was a great apartment in Ortigia, Spacious, comfy, quiet, clean, close to everything, and well equipped. Our host Mattia was very friendly and always available to answer any questions or offer advice. The apartment is well located as it's close enough for the market, there are loads of restaurants everywhere, and everybody without exception is very friendly. We will definitely come back to Ortigia as it is a fabulous bit of Syracuse, and would stay in this particular apartment again.

Nice apartment in a classic old house in a low traffic street. Little noise, quiet compared to other parts of Ortigia. Spacious, looks as it does in the pictures.

Limited hot water

Great location, but the room with the 2 single beds is to the street which is loud at night. For us it was OK, but it should be known.
