Actually everything was fine.

The apartment, although the furniture and overall setup are not very new, is very well kept and everything was exceptionally clean. We truly appreciated the level of cleanliness and comfort — a solid 9 out of 10. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were also good. There was a generous amount of kitchenware and utensils, which made cooking easy and pleasant. The second bedroom had two separate beds that were also comfortable. The apartment has a narrow but charming balcony with a magnificent view, and the patio with its cute little table was a delightful touch.

The check-out time was rather strict — at 10:00 at the latest — and the host strongly encouraged us to leave even earlier, by 8:00, despite check-in being only at 16:00. That was unusual and inconvenient. The host herself was very much like a character from an Italian movie — sharp and expressive — which may not suit everyone. Another issue: the listing mentioned an iron, but when I asked for it the day before departure, the host said there was none in the apartment. Instead of apologizing, she blamed me for asking too late, even though an iron should have been there by default. We also stayed a few minutes past check-out and, although we cleaned the apartment, washed and left the dishes to dry in the sink, the host, visibly upset that we were about 10 minutes late for and hadn’t put the dishes back into place — despite final cleaning being included — expressed her dissatisfaction very loudly and emotionally, which felt quite hurtful. Lastly, since this is an older building, the electricity is tricky: you can’t use some appliances simultaneously — for example, the stove and toaster together caused the toaster to burn out, which scared us a bit. These quirks even added some authentic charm, but it would have been helpful to be warned about them in advance.

The view and accommodation was amazing. The facilities were excellent. Being able to get around to different locations on the ferry was easy.

Nothing not to like. We wanted to be off the beaten track with a great view. Due to the distance out of town you will probably need a car. That worked for us.

EVERYTHING! It is a real paradise with the amazing landscape. Spacious apartments with all necessary stuff, including cooking. You can stay here even for a week or more. Very kind and helpful owner Silvia who met us few minutes before midnight to give the keys and explain everything.

None, everything was perfect. Just keep in mind that you should go by car up and up. Not recommended to reach the apartment on foot if you have heavy suit cases or elder people.

Our stay was a wonderful stop on a two-week road trip. We had the apartment called "Aqua". The property is very secluded and peaceful. We had so much privacy, but Sylvia was always responsive to texts if we had any questions or requests. The best part was the lovely stone patio, private just for us, with a spectacular view of the Lake Como below. There is also a little balcony. The kitchen is well equipped. We struggled to light the hob, though, but I'm sure it will be fixed by now. Everything was clean, cozy, and homey. This apartment is large and comfortable, with two bedrooms and a spacious living area and dining room. The air conditioning worked well, and we used a fan to blow more of the cool air into the master bedroom. Just be aware that you have to be a daring driver to get there! It's up, up, up a steep, very narrow road, full of tight turns. The lovely little town of Menaggio is below, but I would not venture to drive back from dinner there unless I was fully sober. Once we had our bottle of wine with dinner up on our patio, there was no driving down for gelato! From Menaggio, you can take the ferry to Bellagio, and Varenna, which I would definitely recommend as a day trip. There are swimming beaches nearby. We went to one on Lago Lugano, a half hour away, as closer ones were closed for some reason. I rented a paddle board at this beach, which I recommend for getting away from others and getting a fuller view of the gorgeous landscape. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Lovely view of the lake from up the hill from well equipped and comfortable apartment with friendly welcome from Silvia. New oven delivered and installed while we were there. The location up the hill means there is no easy walk to restaurants.

Our GPS could not find the address and the instructions could be clearer.

Silvia is a super host, responding to all our questions and issues. We had a rain 🌧 day The unit is so comfortable that we reinvigorated by just hanging out and watching the clouds and fog roll in over the lake.

I'm not fond of the twisting drive from Menaggio, but I almost got used to it.
