Casa Claudia

Casa Claudia is a beautiful little house in the middle of an enchanted garden in the valley of Atrani. Atrani (the sea) and Amalfi ( Bus and Fary connection) is reachable in a 10 minutes walk. Roberto and his family are very helpful and always friendly and kind. We had a wonderful and peaceful time and highly recommend casa Claudia.

The road who leads to the house is in a not in a very good state. Prepare yourself to walk down from the main road ( where you arrive by bus from amalfi). The best way to travel is with backpack and without suitcase.

There was a musty and stinky smell coming from the washroom when we came back in the evenings which we suspected was from the mold or grime in the washroom shower tiles. The wooden door to the bathroom and the baseboards and walls had mold on them. Even though we were worried about mosquitoes coming in, we opened the window at certain times to air out the room. Wifi was on and off. Bed was so stiff and the pillows barely had any filling in them. The place is quite a dangerous hike and 30 mins. hike to reach Atrani or for any sightseeing. Overall, a very uncomfortable stay that we left a day early.

Studio apartment modernly decorated with great views from the terrace through a gorge and down to the sea. Roberto was very helpful and informative, in fact could not have managed to transport our luggage the 15minute walk downhill without him. Ideal location for some fabulous walks meaning did not need the car for the 3 days we were there. Well stocked Spar supermarket 15 minutes walk up hill.

Need to be aware that it is a 15 minute steep uneven walk downhill from where the car was parked. No restaurants nearby. Ravello a good 30minute walk up hill but can be combined with a circular walk.

We loved staying at Casa Claudia - just the most beautiful setting and fantastic hosts. Midway up the valley to Ravello it's a gorgeous, gorgeous setting: sitting out on the terrace with the river sliding by and the sea view is very special. Check in was easy (tho we did struggle to find it at first) and it was a great base for exploring the wider valley. We also loved Atrani - far less touristy and choked than Amalfi around the corner, with a lovely vibe.

The only complaint we had about the property was that we struggle to get the shower warm - and it wasn't that clear where the property was when we walked up. It is also a bit of a climb out of the village - something we had no issue with but could be a problem for less fit people.

A rural idyll, a gem, a walker's heaven within easy reach of the Path of the Gods, Path of the Lemons, Torre delle Ziro and many more. Roberto was amazing, so helpful, kind and knowledgeable on the best viewing points and places to eat. He and Isabelle shared their eggs and fruits of their garden with us. I would highly recommend CASA CLAUDIA.

The location, it’s almost a hide and seek game to find the location and vehicles cannot reach it. Travellers with extra baggage is not recommended as you will have to do a uphill of 500 mts to reach it.

We loved the location to Amalfi. We had everything we needed to relax and unwind.

We would have liked a coffee maker.
