Location is fantastic close to central, very clean, warm and friendly host.

The host kept in contact us prior to our arrival and had us greeted and welcomed on arrival. He made himself available to contact via WhatsApp We had an issue with the bathroom and he seemed sincere in trying to get this addressed and calling a plumber

The biggest issue we had with this property was the stench of sewerage from the bathroom We did let the host know, but he could not smell it when he checked it. He did get a plumber to check it out. Unfortunately what they did did not lead to a lasting resolution and it was back within 12 hours. By the end, the smell was so bad it made me want to retch. We were happy to leave the property as we were so uncomfortable and went out of way to spend as little time as possible there. The property is located quite close to the city centre. It is a dirty section full of graffiti compared to the city centre. I would have enjoyed Catania better not experiencing that aspect of it. Other issues like the towels being very old and bare (they did make effort to pretty them up by wrapping them in a ribbon which did demonstrate a welcoming effort) and sheer curtains which allowed light into the bedroom at night - were not as critical given you get you pay for. I would have budgeted more if I had known it was quite basic. The property has excellent reviews and ratings so I do think it can fulfil a void for many travellers. In retrospect it wasn’t for me. I could have afforded to pay more. I believe the host was doing their best. It is the smell that has compelled me to respond to the invitation to write a review.

Absolutely clean comfortable, and the owner was very helpful. Very generous person.
