Il Fiore del Golfo

We were a group of 5 adults and thought this apartment was excellent. It's in a quiet location close to the centre of Sant Agata, where there are some nice bars, restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. The bus stop for Sorrento is literally at the end of the drive, which was very convenient for us as we didn't have a car. Giuseppe the manager met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful, and while we were there he booked us a boat trip to Amalfi and also a taxi transfer for our departure day. We also did some very enjoyable trips by public transport to Sorrento, Herculaneum and Pompeii, and a ferry ride over to the island of Ischia. The apartment is situated on the 2nd floor, so you have to get used to going up and down stairs. It's a very spacious and comfortable apartment, everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen equipment included a dishwasher and washing machine. The wide balcony was lovely to sit out on with beautiful views across the bay and to Vesuvius.

Some of the information on the booking.com website is incorrect, in particular; There is no lift; there are 2 bathrooms (not 3 as stated); there is no kettle or toaster in the kitchen; the 3rd bedroom does not have air conditioning; the kitchen is not "shared"; and I wasn't aware of any massage services! These mistakes may not be deliberate but they need correcting so as not to mislead people. Having said that, we had a wonderful stay and we would happily book this apartment again.

Sant agata provides relief from the hectic nature of the Amalfi and Sorrento coast. It is up the top of the ridge with great views and a handful of restaurants and gelato shops… what else do you need.

The property was excellent and very well maintained having everything we wanted for a two week family stay, including two bathrooms which was very convenient. There was allocated parking for our hire car behind the gate (opened by fob). The view from the balcony looked out directly across the Gulf of Naples to Vesuvius, which was amazing at dawn and beautiful at night. Our hosts - and the local community in Sant' Agata generally - were very friendly and helpful. Nearby shops provided everything we needed, there's a tourist information center only a few hundred meters away, as well as bus stops in either direction (depending on whether you are traveling toward Sorrento or the Amalfi coast). Several excellent restaurants in Sant' Agata are in easy walking distance; we'd particularly recommend the pizza restaurant just down the road (exit the gate, turn right, walk for a few minutes, on the right). We mostly used public transport and had no problems visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, Positano and Amalfi (tickets available from nearby shop for bus; train from Sorrento to Naples, tickets from Sorrento station). I'd also recommend the walk down to Sorrento (approx. one hour, all downhill, can return by bus) and to Fiordo di Crappola, a quiet little cove on the Amalfi cost (note though: it's a step climb back up, with a lot of steps). Many, many thanks to our hosts for a brilliant holiday in an excellent location!

This was a beautiful apartment with amazing views. The property was impeccable and our host Giuseppe was kind, friendly, and someone of terrific character. This is the place to stay when exploring the Amalfi Coast!
