it was very clean, comfortable and well-decorated. we enjoyed the outdoor area as well as the room itself. we had everything we needed and were treated very well by the host. it would’ve been even better if it were on the river or canal but it was still great

It was a lovely super clean room in the interior of the island with mosquito-netting on the windows! Devika and her family are great and kind hosts. Her English is very good and her willingness to support fantastic. We loved our stay; very relaxed, super quiet surroundings, a slice of paradise really. On the island is very little established touristic infrastructure as most tourist come for a day trip on the canals. So; not much restaurants, no tourist shops, no handicrafts etc, which defines a lot of the authentic vibe.

A wardrobe would have been handy. As this is a homestay with little choice of other restaurants near by; we mostly ate here. At the beginning we clarified the prices which were not as billed in the end. However, all is reasonably priced and the food is lovely and served with care and attention.

The property was easily located through GoogleMaps. The host, Devika, got in touch with us at the beginning of the day of arrival to know our expected time of arrival. Devika and Jithin helped us do the smooth check in. They have 2 rooms adjacent to their home and two more rooms on top floor of their house. We got the adjacent rooms and they arranged local vegetarian dinner. Food was delicious. Rooms were spacious and had chargeable AC service. Cleanliness was on point. Now coming to the best part of the stay was the early morning sunrise canoeing provided by Jithin's father himself. They charged us nominal rate and the ride was worth every penny. We drifted along the narrow canals and kept sailing through the Ashtamudi river. The sunrise was spectacular and serene. The host family were super humble and polite in behaviour.
