Villa Marina has an excellent view. Its an ideal place amidst nature, in a peaceful mountain village - Pigra. The property is very well maintained, with elegant interiors and a balcony that won't let you leave. With a very warm, helpful host Marina, you are sure to get all the information about the place. This place is perfect for couples/friends/family looking for some time in the mountains with a nice view. The cities are well connected by road (20 minutes) by car. We specially recommend spending some time in the cafe - Il capannone di Pigra. Lorenzo will win your heart.

The view is breathtaking, but that it is the only positive thing we have to say.

The location is highly impractical for anyone travelling without a car. Although it seems close when looking on a map, it is a disaster to get to the property and back to Argegno. The only public transport to Argegno from Pigra and back is a highly overpriced cable car that stops running at 16:45 (even though the posters say 19:00). As such, you cannot go into Argegno for the restaurants or shops after about 16:30 and thereafter you are stuck in Pigra which doesn't have a grocery store or a proper restaurant. It is unfortunate that we could not enjoy the restaurants and activities of the lakeside towns in the evenings. Then to get to the house from the cable car is a gruelling 30 min uphill walk if you have luggage to carry. The apartment is cute, but the "bed" is a pull-out sleeper couch which was very uncomfortable. Even though the ad said that there is a washing machine, the washing machine was broken and could not be used. As to the host, she is very nice, BUT 1. She did not know that we were coming and was entirely unprepared; 2. Communication regarding Pigra's lack of shopping options and travelling obstacles was virtually non-existent, which caused us to incur unnecessary costs and lose a lot of precious time at Lake Como waiting for transport. There was no public transport to Pigra and we had to pay her 20 Euros to come and get us which was, in our opinion, disproportionate to the distance she had to travel to come and get her guests. 3. Lastly, although most certainly not a deal-breaker, we were required to take our own trash to the garbage dump down the road, which was a first for us. At the end of the day, given the additional unexpected costs and the impossibility of shopping and touring the lakeside towns during the evenings, we would have rather paid a little bit more to stay in one of the Lakeside towns. They are all beautiful!
