Lovely flat with a great view, nice owner who checked us in in person and gave some advices about places to see.

The place was spacious and clean.

Riomaggiore is not a place I would return. Had the host displayed a little bit of kindness or warmth, I might feel differently. The place is suitable only for the young and fit. There are 2 flights of uneven stairs to reach the apartment. The floor inside is also uneven. For the first 24 hours we tripped each time we move between the living area and the bedrooms. The place is noisy until the parties downstairs and on the main street stopped. The host didn’t respond to messages via booking.com nor WhatsApp. Finally she answered a call. When asked for directions, her response was “it’s easy and not far,”. Riomaggiore is a chaotic town. We depended on a friend’s host to help us find the place. Even a local took a wrong turn down 80 steps and 500m out of way.

The location was very nice, and an easy walk from the train station. The apartment was good size and nicely furnished, and felt comfortable and safe. The host was friendly and quick to respond to our questions.

The bathroom was a bit small. Also, visitors should know that there are lots of steps everywhere in Riomaggiore. You need to climb up some steps to get into the apartment. Even to get into the bathroom requires going up a few steps from the main part of the apartment.
