Sorrento City Apartment

For a nearby place with good value, this place is excellent. Roberta, the owner, is nice, responsive & very helpful. Customer service via the Sorrento Hotel receptionist is also very responsive. The room is on the 2nd floor & they have a small elevator. Towel will be change daily. For complementary, they gave us couple bottles of beer (Thanks a lot).

We are a group of 6 people. 2 beds set actually not in a proper room but a narrow alley & it doesn’t have AC, only a fan (by request). I guess the apartment suited best for maximum 4 people. The hot water capacity is not much, so after some people takes a hot shower, it needs time to ‘reload’ the hot water; otherwise, the water will only be lukewarm. The kitchen pot & coffee maker to boil water can’t be used. Even the pot, after being used to boil water, reveals a white powder (I don’t know what it is). The dishwasher is a little bit smelly. The washing machine can only be used to wash clothes; a dryer is not included.

Good location.

1. On checkin we were told the apartment wouldn’t be ready till 5pm. I had to be stern to get a 3pm check in (it states 3pm check in when booking the property. Every other accommodation we stayed at whilst touring Europe for 4 weeks was always ready by 1pm checkin even when it stated 3pm when booking). 2. The second bathroom had a terrible smell (sewerage smell). We couldn’t use it. 3. The pool was not operational and we were not told this when booking. Note after complaining, the staff did find an alternative pool for the kids to swim in.

It was perfect for our family of five.

The mattresses were not very comfortable and there was no cooling in third bedroom, however the owners kindly provided a fan when requested.

The property was very clean. It was lovely to have a deck and pool.

Roberta was great. She texted us on WhatsApp while we were still on the way, and she agreed to meet us beyond the booked time (we were delayed by 30 minutes). She also had a representative from parking garage to take the car from us to park it overnight. Roberta showed us all around the apartment, the kitchen equipment - the food cupboard had pasta bags; and provided us with a 6 pack of 2 liter mineral water bottles so we don't go looking for water upon arrival. We were able to ask Roberta recommendations during our stay about the area, she gave us a useful advice to avoid using the car around Sorrento as it is a walking town, as well as many other valuable advice. She does answer her WhatsApp messages promptly.

The apartment has effective split-unit air-conditioning which normally drains condensation water (a drop at a time) to a bucket on the balcony. In the summer, and humid weather, this bucket needs to be emptied once a day. It's easy to do, so it wasn't inconvenient, but we had to remember to do it.

Location was good for the town, quiet, lovely view from balcony, apartment had aircon in 2 main bedrooms, pool was great, host was very helpful and reached out before we travelled.

3rd bedroom didn't have aircon or a fan,

Location was a 15 minute walk to the city center.

Small hot water tanks meant some cold showers.
