Chalet Silver Fox

Very homely but still 6 star luxury. Best location.....wonderful apartment.

Very pricey.....exchange rate for Australians makes it tough. We could hear upstairs neighbours when kids were yelling.....not terrible but could be an issue.

Breakfast was erratic in both arrival time and quality. The last morning all the eggs were broken. Afternoon tea did not arrive at all on several days. The host was slow to respond to requests and was not very effective. Difficult to communicate with the staff if we didn’t speak German. More storage needed in some bedrooms

Staff was responsive, very friendly, and caring! I texted Barbara often and she helped with restaurant recommendations, train support, etc. Stefan met us in person to walk through the apartment, give us the door code, show us amenities, and was very friendly. Excellent breakfast delivered every morning (7-8 am we chose!) which included bread, croissants, pastries, cheese, meats, jam, cereal, butter, milk, yogurt, and eggs to cook yourself. Kitchen had everything we needed! It's amazing waking up to a full spread and cooking our own eggs makes the meal even more fresh. Mid-day pastries/snack brought up while we were out every day which was a nice surprise. Beds were fantastic, super comfortable, great pillows. Living room was spacious and a great area to lounge together. Bathrooms were large, clean, and modern! Entire apartment was sparkling clean, no bugs or dirt spotted anywhere. Location was quiet for sleeping yet still only a 5 minute walk to the ski rental and lift. ~15 minute walk from the train station and ~15 min walk from some of the main restaurants/bars. Gorgeous view out the back door towards the mountain. Amenities were wonderful as well. Sauna open from 4-8 PM every day to wind down after skiing. Table tennis available in the garage. Heated area to hang ski equipment on the 1st floor which made sure everything was dry for the next skiing day! Value for money was great as well. Sleeps up to 10 comfortably. We were 7 total and 3 people got their own rooms/bathrooms while 4 shared 2 rooms/bathrooms.

Very little could be improved here and none of these are that important, but if I had to say: 1. We only found 3 table tennis rackets, a 4th would be great for doubles! Most of the table tennis balls were too light and not the real kind, but there were 2 that were good. 2. We only tried once but couldn't connect to Netflix on the TV. I think casting was an option but we couldn't get that to work. 3. A couple of the showers were not the standing kind but instead tubs (which would be great for baths). However, perhaps include a shower curtain for the bathrooms with tubs so water does not go everywhere. We didn't shower in the tubs but just a recommendation.

Great property for our ski trip to St. Anton. The chalet is about 2 blocks (slightly uphill) from one of the main gondolas, provided us with a location that was close to everything, yet also quiet as it was not in the hustle and bustle of the center of the resort. The unit was clean and felt new. The onsite ski locker with boot/glove dryer was nice to have. The host was easy to contact if we ever needed anything or if we had questions.

Each bedroom has a full bath (plus another 1/2 bath), however, some of the showers are not glass enclosed. This might be standard for European properties, but when traveling from the US, we are used to something else. It’s a small detail, but worth mentioning. Also, the unit has a washing machine, but not a dryer (although it’s possible the washer doubled as a dryer and we just were not sure how to use it).

We stayed at Chalet Silver Fox as a group of 10 (6 aged between 16 and 20). We were in touch with Barbara on a few occasions before we arrived and she helped organise excellent airport transfers, bookings for restaurants, ski hire recommendations etc. Every question was responded to quickly and we found her super helpful. Once we arrived as were thrilled with the apartment. The kitchen was extremely well equiped, the sitting area well appointed and the rooms were great (beds were extremely comfortable!). Breakfast was fantastic and far better than we expected, particularly the gluten free items - every day we had a wonderful array of bread, croissants, cheese, ham, yogurt, juices etc. We were also provided with delicious cakes (including GF) at tea time which was an unexpected bonus! The staff were smiley, friendly and helpful and came in every day to clean the whole apartment and clear up breakfast. The hosts arranged for us to leave our skis at the bottom of the lift so we never had to carry them or walk in our ski boots even though it was only a short distance. We really liked the location as we were able to walk into the main part of St Anton very easily. The sauna was excellent and everything was spotlessly clean. We would highly recommend Chalet Silver Fox!
