Spazio apartments Archi - La casetta al centro

This is a cute little apartment that has been thoughtfully furnished with everything a guest might need. The host even left a basket with pasta, sauce, biscuits and other goodies for us to use. It is spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the a/c worked great. The washing machine (with laundry pods and drying rack) was a bonus. Be aware that the bedroom area is quite small, with very little space between the bed and the wall, which was not an issue for us, but might be for some people. Also, though well lit, with plenty of outlets and lights, there are essentially no windows, other than in the door itself and an adjacent doorway, which was bolted shut and covered with shutters. This makes it feel a bit like a cave. The location was great for us- a fairly short walk to the centre of Catania down some interesting back streets and near a number of nice restaurants (though we did not love Canni i Pesci nearby- pretentious and expensive and for that, they served our appetizer and my partner's main course at the same time and I had to wait another 45 minutes for my main (some grilled fish) by which time my partner was completely finished. The same thing happened to the table next to us). Also, while there is free on street parking in the vicinity, it can be quite difficult to find in the evenings.

I wanted to love this place, but as a couple of other guests have mentioned, the apartment has a distinctive pungent odor of damp mold that just does not dissipate. It didn't bother my partner much, but I'm really sensitive to that smell, which gives me a headache, and it really spoiled my stay. I'm sure a dehumidifier, some fans and a throrough airing out would help as the windowlessness means there is no air circulation.

the location is excellent. 10 minute walk from the Airport bus, 15 minute walk to the central station and 10 minute walk to the historical centre. We arrived early afternoon and we were perhaps wondering if we were in the correct location. At night time everything changes the area becomes lively and vibrant and the best Ice cream shop I have ever been into is 3 minutes walk away (Zio Pietro) and I tasted a lot of gelato on this trip. The washing machine is an added bonus, great shower and facilities. Valentina the host was excellent and was available for us to check in a little early as we arrived and also allowed us to stay to 11 so we did not have to wait in the hot Sicilian Sun for our train to Naples. very secure and due to the shutters completely dark at night. Excellent Wi-Fi.

The bed was not to our liking. My partner said she kept rolling into the middle and it disturbed her sleep, there is also a minimum distance between the bed and the wall. (I still have the bruises) Bit again that is my personal opinion as I am on the larger scale. the area itself only has the small mini markets and the larger supermarket chains are a distance away.

Nothing. Valentina the hostess was brilliant even though we had to communicate through a translator app! We had a minor issue and she was there within the hour and sorted it.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The property was beautifully furnished with homely christmas decorations. Greeted with chocolates and some food items (pasta sauce and pasta) to tie over the stay for the first day.

The location is perfect. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay. The host lady is super nice and cooperative.

We stayed for 2 nights in november. The apartment is in close proximity to many turist spots and you can find free public parking. We arrived earlyer then expected and Valentina, the host, was very accomodating. The apartment had everything we needed, it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Valentina is an amazing host, very kind and supportive . She cares a lot that her guests feel good and comfortable. La casetta al centro has everything to make you feel home and the historic center is 7 minutes away. Everything is accessible by walk and in less than 5 minutes you can explore the daily market and the famous fish market. I highly recommend this gem and I hope to go back. Grazie mille Valentina :)
