Home in Orvieto - Via dei Dolci

The apartment was nice and cozy. We stayed there for a week with two children. The Orvieto Cathedral is indeed visible from the window and can be reached quickly on foot. Other tourist attractions were also within walking distance. The only thing to keep in mind is that the nearest paid parking is at least 50 meters away. There are no free parking spaces nearby.

Location was perfect. On a quiet street but very close to the Duomo. Clean, spacious apartment.

The location.

One of the reasons we chose this apartment was for the washing machine since we were on a 6 week trip. We were very disappointed to find that the washing machine was not in the apartment, but outside in a different room and it was shared by other tenants. Even when the washer was available, the drying racks were always in use by other tenants.

We didn't get any breakfast; the location was perfect.

Our apartment was at the top which meant climbing a lot of stairs each day. As a senior this presented a real problem. We were also very cold - couldn't find a way to turn up the heat.

Location was fantastic. Very close to the duomo as well as the paid parking area near Piazza Duomo.

The washing machine was located in the basement of a separate building and the rubber seal was in dire need of cleaning so I elected to go to a lavanderia located appx ten minutes away. The host cleaned the seal the following day after I sent a video of how it should be done. (The lavanderia I used was called Lavagettone Orvieto located at Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 30. The cost was reasonable and detergent was included. The big advantage was that our clothes could be washed and dried within an hour or so. And the lavanderia was very clean.) Also, even though I knew there were four steps between the bedroom and the bathroom (from the photos on the site) I had a bit of trouble in the dark and nearly fell (which of course was my own fault).

The location was absolutely perfect!!! The apartment was well laid out and had everything that we needed.

The only minor complaint is the sofa bed was saggy and uncomfortable after a while. The bed in the main bedroom was excellent. Very comfortable!
