The size, location

The room is facing to the inside of the building, so the room is always dark. And they don’t have dryer in the room (booking.com said they have washer/dryer, but washing function only).

The appartment was very clean, functional and confortable. The host left many things for breakfast and the basics for cooking that were great. It is very close to the city center.

The hostess was super helpful, she came to help us figure out how to turn on the air con on. She was very knowledgeable and provided little snacks and treats in the apartment. It was well decorated, clean and an excellent size for a family of 4. We were also given parking passes to park up the hill. There was also the offer of using beach passes, as most beaches have little space in Italy as the sunbeds are usually reserved and paid for in advance. This can lead to beds right at the sea edge and no umbrellas for shade. We were able to cook, wash our clothes and use the dishwasher.

There was air con and it was good, very cold when stood right infront of it. However in apartment 1, it is on the corridor between the bedrooms and is low down on the wall. Therefore it doesn't fully reach the second bedroom (the living room with sofa bed) which made it very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in for those staying in that room. This can make for a very difficult sleep for half of the guests.

Large well equipped apartment in a great location. Air conditioning throughout meant we could escape the heat (it was hot weather when we stayed). Very responsive host who made us feel most welcome.

Clean and you had everything you need! Space and location!

Sometimes the noice of air condition and the noice from the machine that comes for garbage downstairs.

Very good location, close to all sights, shops, cafes and restaurants. Nice and friendly host easy to reach. Apartment fully equipped in all that is needed.

We only stayed one night there, as we were taking the ferry to Split the next day. We liked the location (which turned out to be quite a short walking distance to restaurants and shops) although when the taxi driver dropped us off at the address, we couldn't initially see any entrance. I think we were expecting an obvious sign that said Palazzo Marchetti but there wasn't one that stood out. We asked a nearby shopkeeper who pointed us to the door! We'd also forgotten to read the check-in details and as the outer door was locked, I called the number I had on WhatsApp and got an immediate friendly response and instructions on how to enter the apartment. Once in the apartment everything was great. It was very roomy and comfortable and the air-conditioning was lovely and cool. There were packets of biscuits and crackers there for our breakfast, as well as tea and coffee. In fact we were so comfortable there (and so tired) that we slept in the next day and missed the checkout time! I messaged an apology though, and was told it was ok because the cleaning staff was running late anyway, so we had time to get ourselves ready and leave to catch our ferry. This was very much appreciated!

Maybe it was just a case of us being tired and not looking properly but a more obvious sign saying "Palazzo Marchetti" would perhaps make it more obvious to future guests, as our taxi driver got the right address but had never heard of Palazzo Marchetti. The street was very quiet and we thought initially that we might be in the wrong place....

Facilities are very good

An excellent apartment, spacious, well stocked and clean. It was located very close to all the amenities and activities in Ancona and was a gem of a place to be honest.
