Green Quercia Apartment

Some furniture is damaged and needs replacing (chairs with cracked backs which can catch on clothing).

The apartment is lovely and clean, fairly modern, spacious, a nice walk to the centre (if you walk along the lake shore rather than through the streets), washing machine (which we didn’t find everywhere so that was good), a fairly small kitchen but perfectly ok for a short visit. It is a nice place.

The only real problem we had was a lack of communication from the owners. I don’t know what happened but they didn’t reply to messages though booking.com or sms. When we did meet, Gabrielle was very nice giving us lots of advice on how to enjoy the town. Note you have to pay them directly when you arrive. Thankfully they accept card payment but make sure you specify first so they bring the card reader. At almost €300 per night it was a bit pricey.

Location was great, with a 20-30 minute stroll along the lake to the centre of town. Rooms were of a good size with parking right outside the front door (though not reserved). Plenty hot water and bathroom and shower were of good quality. Hosts were very courteous and friendly. Very clean on arrival and hosts were very attentive to our needs, recommending a great restaurant, activities etc.

Rooms were, as you'd expect in summer, very warm. The ceiling fan didn't do too much to cool down the main bedroom, and with no fly screens, the risk of letting mozzies in if windows left open, was a consideration. Perhaps some pedestal fans would have been a good addition? Some more kitchen utensils would be appreciated, such as sharp knifes for chopping, a kettle for boiling water for making tea, coffee etc. Would also recommend highlighting in advance the payment options. Although I had no problem with paying in cash, this was a slight inconvenience, having to take out a daily maximum amount over the period I was there, due to not being made aware in advance. No problem, but something to take into account.

Marcelo was a fantastic host. Offered to pick us up from the station as Uber and taxis can be difficult from the station. Apartment is a short walk from Villas and restaurants along the lake. Marcelo gave us some great recommendations for dinner and brunch. Will definitely stay again
