JP House Amalfi

The property was overall nice, clean and comfortable, drinkable water which was nice, air conditioning JP was a nice host he send us a lot of recommendation on what to do in amalfi and also helped us organise the porter to carry out luggage The apartment is very spacious, kitchen and bathroom were good too

The view is over rated on booking.com as you need to stand in a very small spot at the back of the house to be able to see the view and you are sharing the view with the neighbour in our case they were most of the time seating there so we didn’t get to enjoy the view. There is a camera pointing straight to your terrace and outside table which feels a bit weird. There is 230 stairs to access the apartment so if you have suitcase you need to think about it. The host has sent us a message on booking.com after we book it so when you in a rush and you don’t look at your messages you are not aware of the stairs (because this detail is sent at the end of a long message) You also need before checkin the pay the taxes to the shop and then go to the apartment.

Clean secure apartment with great views and quiet. Effective air-conditioning. although there are 200 steps to the apartment there is a public elevator taking you 100 steps above with spectacular views 7 days a week up to midnight. Gianpiero was a fantastic host very helpful. Use

The shower had a good pressure and temperature but the shower enclosure was a small making it challenging to use if you are a larger person.

Very lovely and cozy place, good size, comfy. Good location and view from terrace. JP was a great host.

If you have problem with stairs then not ideal for you but we didn't mind this at all. The only issue we had was that the sheets smelt a bit musty but that was all that was wrong and it certainly didn't ruin our trip.

View is great from the terrace (if you get the one spot - see below). Apartment is spacious, the low ceilings at times aren't that bad. Bathroom is very small but clean. Kitchen is useable which is nice. Location is good - the stairs pay off when you see the view. Overall it is a nice place to stay.

The most misleading aspect is the terrace - it is great, but only if you get the one tiny spot and its shared between the two rooms. So if the other room beats you there, theres nowhere else on the terrace with a view, even though it is a large terrace. The photos are misleading for this aspect. There is also a camera that points towards a table on the terrace (happened to be our table) so you don't want to sit there because you feel like you are being watched. The views from the inside windows are misleading - you'll never really stand in a place where you can see the water/view. There are a ton of mosquitos in and outside of the room. Check-in is unnecessary. The keys are in a lockbox at the door but he makes you go up the main street before you start your trek up all the stairs to the apartment, solely for the city tax (which could be left on the table).

Great location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Great view of the city. 5 minutes to the sea. JP and his family are very friendly and always ready to help. Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshments, which was very nice. We recommend this apartment if you want to experience the local Italian flavor.

The weather wasn't the best, so inside of the flat it was a bit cold, since the floor was all tiles and the windows were very small, which makes sense when it is hot outside. So just fyi that it could be a bit cooler
