L'elegante Dépendance Del Barone

I chose this rental because of the Franciscan theme. I was pleasantly surprised that my host is an actual priest. He is a very, very kind man, with a charming personality and an obvious care about the well-being and comfort of his guests. The location is quite good, and I particularly enjoyed getting a lot of exercise, as I walked up and down the stairs.

The apartment is lovely. It is immaculate (no surprise, since it is owned by a priest). Every detail has been meticulously laid out. Unfortunately, the smell from the cleaning products is overwhelming. I stayed for two weeks, and after a week, when it was time to change the sheets and to clean, I specifically asked to be careful with the fragranced cleaning products and the perfumes. Unfortunately, when I returned, the fragrance was so overwhelming that it took two days with the windows and doors open to get some fresh air. But the worst thing was the construction. A building was being renovated immediately next door, and the construction noise began early in the morning and continued all day. It was so loud that I couldn't even speak on the phone while inside the apartment! Contrary to the posted rules in the house about how to keep quiet during the afternoon, this was of no matter--the sound of machines and hammers was extremely loud all day. I understand that sometimes there is no control over the neighbors, but the apartment/house being renovated was next door, and in fact, a window of the building being renovated looks immediately onto the terrace of L’elegante dépendance del Barone Francesco. It was impossible to enjoy the terrace most days. Honestly, this apartment should never have been rented, and I warn anyone who is considering staying here. Inquire specifically about the construction!

This is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed 😊 It was super clean and we immediately felt safe and welcome. It felt like we were visiting a favorite relative's house 😊 Antonio is a very kind and thoughtful host. Everything was generously stocked, which helped us a lot because we didn't have a car. Everything we wanted to see was accessible by foot or bus. I highly recommend!!

The apartment is really cozy, clean, lovely decorated and fully equipped. It is close to all the major sights, which are all within a walkable distance. It is a great place to stay in the historic town center.

The apartment was very comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and has a beautiful private outside patio area.

Not a fault of the apartment but Agrigento is built on steep hills & lots of steps to the apartment. I had a 10 kg backpack & small daypack so i put kettle on when I got there Phew.

Very comfortable apartment with lots-and-lots of small items, pictures, symbols and little niceties for us, guests (coffee, tea, mineral water, beer, etc.) Must emphasise there's a perfect, convenient porch tempting us to sit in front of the apartment! Smiling, communicative local host living just nearby. The absolute city centre is just a five-minute walk, possible parking is five minutes away in the opposite direction.

The actual location is not where Google Maps put number 17 (at least in early autumn 2024) but somehow "behind" number 14 in the same street. Absolutely not the apartment to blame, this is a wonderful place to stay at! Just wanted to mention for possible guests.

Very friendly host, quiet, does not feel like a apartment for rent but like a curated private home. Coffee, tea, breakfast, all provided nicely. Beautiful flowery terrace. Perfect for visitors who look for rest after a busy sightseeing schedule.

A bit uphill, so no easy access with suitcases if you want to walk, but a cab can stop right in front of the building.

We liked everything
