The Teak by Lakbima

The position is good, the apartment is spacious and tidy and the two bathrooms are a plus for the stay.

There were not enough towel sets for 4 people (some of the ones available were not totally clean). There was no hairdryer (needed due to the chill temperature).

The appartment is big and has all comfort available. Kitchen well furnished. The center of Nuwara is walking distance.

The appartment is in an appartment building with ventilation magnifying the noises in the corridors of the building. In the evening other habitants plaid loud music untill 11 pm which made it quite noisy.

The Teak apartment is good value for money. The flat is spacious and well equipped. The hot water is really good. The beds are very comfy.

Well furnished flat in a peaceful area. It was pacious and comfortable. It was clean. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you need. Highly recomend it.

Whilst the apartment is all we were renting and it’s just one in a block, it is managed by the building staff, rather than the owner and those staff aren’t very friendly. As tourists, we rented an electric tuk tuk which is owned by a Sri Lankan family and is a good way to support them. We opted for electric to support the environment. Firstly, they didn’t want us to park it in their car park as a tuk tuk didn’t suit their image! Then, they wouldn’t allow us to charge it - it just uses a normal three pin plug. We offered to pay and the rental company also called them and explained, but they wouldn’t budge. We therefore had three days in the town, where there is nothing to do/see as we were unable to travel out to the beautiful surrounding areas.

Location was just a short walk down a hill to the centre, very clean , well set up apartment with comfy beds. Very peaceful and quiet area. If walking at night back to accom e mindful of tuk tuks but that comes as standard and adds to the adventure :-)

Check in was difficult - The Teak is the name of your room within the apartment complex not the building itself so was hard to find. No one spoke to us only to our driver and there appeared confusion over our booking but once sorted we were shown to our room which was lovely.
