Immense and very comfortable apartment. Very large terrace, with a kitchen and views. The location is secluded, but you have privileged views and surroundings. You can reach anywhere by tuk tuk in a short time, so it’s not a problem. Also, the host helps you with everything and is super available and kind. The best place I have stayed during my entire trip.

Staying at Sunny Mound was such a lovely experience. I initially booked for 2 nights but stayed for 12. 😅 It was a great place to relax after moving and travelling as the surrounding village and nature were so beautiful and peaceful. gorgeous sunsets over the fields and sooooooo many fireflies. Magical. 😍 The room was basic but clean and comfortable and was offered to be cleaned often. Iroshan and his family were lovely, always smiling and helpful. I was there over Sinhala and Tamil New year and they gave me traditional sweets and snacks. Thanks again.❤️🙏 The room I was in also had its own private kitchen which was very convenient. I made basic meals but it's well equipped to cook. There was also a washing machine which was very useful. The WiFi was pretty good making it efficient for online/remote work/video calls. Yoga shala is just 8 minutes away by foot and some beaches, grocery stores & a few restaurants are 20-30 minutes away too with a pleasant walk through the village. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely visit again when I'm in Unawatuna. Like a home away from home.

If you don't like walking then I would recommend you get a scooter or use pick me from this location as things might feel a bit far at times especially if you're in a hurry or it's hot. There is a bicycle for rent too. This location is not close to Unawatuna main beach.... you'll need a ride or to walk about 1 hour. This is more of a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle which I actually liked in the end.

The place is AMAZING. I more or less spend most of my time and the terrace, which is also the kitchen and give you a great sense of connection with nature - birds visiting me was part of my morning routine - and privacy. Because there are many trees, it's never too hot – and there is a ventilator, which is a real luxury. I did my yoga there, meditated, was working very focused and would be willing to buy the place on the spot ) The owners are great, extremely responding and helpful. They also speak solid English, and are opened to deeper conversations.I felt very safe and protected. I'll come back for sure! THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVELY PEOPLE <3

The owner Iroshan is very helpful and kind. The room has a big and comfy bed, everything is clean and the internet is very good. There is a clean and equipped kitchen next to it.

The room was very spacious and aesthetic. The bed was comfortable and could easily accommodate two adults plus a child. A big plus is the washing machine and clean air conditioning. Cooking in the open kitchen surrounded by tropical birds and fireflies was a great experience. We were very pleased with our stay and would gladly come back here again.

Beautiful place surrounded by tropical forest. Great place to get away from the tourist hotspots but still be close enough to everything you need. The family is also super lovely,,, highly recommend!
