These units deliver so much more than the price tag would have you expect. The units are fully loaded and completely self-contained. There are even 2 bicycles offered to guests with each unit to get around the city! They are also surprisingly spacious for Japanese accommodation, and located just a short walk from the chaya district. I will definitely stay here again next time we're in Kanazawa!

Nothing, it exceeded all expectations!

This apartment was underwhelming. First off, there was no bidet even though bidet was advertised. I wouldn't even have considered it had they not put bidet right at the top of their list of facilities. Bathroom was tiny with zero shelf space for toiletries. We had to run in and out to get our stuff. Instead of a bedside table between the beds, there was a shelf with sharp corners higher than the bed. I banged my head hard in the middle of the night trying to get comfortable on their sagging mattresses (2 thick ones stacked one on top of the other making the bed very high) and flat pillows. The apartment is really small and didn't even have room for our luggage bag. We booked 3 nights but moved to a hotel after only 1 night. The host was not responsive either and totally ghosted me until 3 days later.

Nearby bakery. Bikes are nice but difficult to take advantage of because parking a bike isn't allowed on sidewalks in the city. Washing machine was very appreciated.

Impossible to find this place! Even our taxi driver couldn't find it. He finally stopped at a convenience store, where he and the manager spent ten minutes on Google maps trying to figure it out. We received NO INFORMATION about how to get there. Even the map coordinates given by the host were still not at the actual site, but around the corner and a block away. There are no windows to look outside. There were a few hard crystals of coffee in the bottom of a jar.

The location is great, just halfway between Kanazawa Castle and the Higashi Chaya district. The room is clean and it was great to be able to wash our clothes with the washing machine.

Nothing.

It had all the essentials, bed was comfortable and the washing machine was welcome. Free bicycle hire but also walking distance to all the sights. Free parking onsite!

Checking in and out online and no human nor key takes getting used to. But the online communication was good.

First off it’s very cheap accommodation in Kanazawa and really well located. We had a car and we weee able to park it but after driving in the city one crazy afternoon we just left the car and walked everywhere. The location is no more than 500m from the Gardens and Castle but a bit further if you want to see the city area where all the big restaurants are. We instead drive to a nearby supermarket and bought some very low priced sushi, pork slices and other nibbles for a very cheap dinner. The beds in the room are SO comfortable and overall the room / kitchen / bathroom is really cosy and perfect for two nights. We never met Amy, we only messaged via the app. Check in was a little time consuming but like all accommodations these days where you don’t actually meet the host, you simply key in a few details, scan your passports and then scan a QR code to get the 4 digit PIN code for the door. If a 60 year old Aussie can do it, you can too!

I guess from other reports ‘some’ people did meet Any… but we didn’t. After staying at 38 Hotels and BnB’s in Japan in 7 weeks we got used to being greeted by an actual person. Amy was very reassuring and prompt with messages but we just never met her.

The location was fairly convenient, the neighborhood was quiet, free bikes available, very large TV, and emergency support was fast and available when I needed it. They provided an instruction manual in the room that was thorough and helpful.

They provided a thick comforter that got too hot for me and no top sheet. The rules in English about what to do with the bedding at end of stay were confusing; why do i have to gather the bedding for you? that's what hotel service does. Rules about trash in English were also a little confusing. And I was required to wash the dishes; again, that's not my job when the room is listed on Bookings like a hotel.
