The accomodation was fantastic, perfect for our family. Out of the hustle and bustle, a 3 minute walk to the supermarket and the train / bus stop to the various mountains. Extremely clean and well set up. Pete was amazing, drinks in his garage with other families was a great initiative and really helpful with restaurant recommendations and also making the bookings. When I damaged my ski he not only recommended where to get it fixed but drove me 15 minutes to the shop that night and back again the next day and then dropped us all at the ski mountain after that. We’ll be back.

Our apartments were absolutely beautiful! They were very spacious to accommodate a group of adult couples. The view from the balcony and living rooms was breathtaking! We were able to park right outside our door and utilise a massive drying room for our ski gear. The bathrooms were great and had nice hot water. The Kitchen was modern and had all the necessary fixtures to cook meals. The location was perfect being so close to supermarkets, transport, fashion stores, onsens and local restaurants. Meeting the owners Pete and Shiho was one of the highlights of our time in Hakuba. They were so accommodating and welcoming. They helped in any way they could to ensure our time in Hakuba went smoothly and that we were comfortable in our accommodation. We would absolutely recommend staying at Hakuba Downtown Apartments.

Modern property and amenities. Short walking distance to JR train station, bus stop and grocery stores if you have no car.

Everything was great. Just one minor suggestion to include a hook to hang the clothes and towel in the bathroom

Well located and appointed. It was a comfortable place to spend our evenings on a ski holiday.

What initially looked to be a pleasant stay ended up quite disappointing and stressful, mainly due to cleanliness issues and unclear expectations. Upon arrival, the apartment did not appear to have been properly cleaned. Utensils and dishes inside the cabinets were oily and had visible residue, which gave the impression that cleaning between guests is minimal. Checkout was at 10:00am, yet cleaning staff arrived at 9:55am while we were still doing final checks. We had already consolidated and tied all trash and completed one full round of machine dishwashing in the morning. Due to time constraints, a small number of breakfast utensils were left in the sink. The apartment was not trashed or damaged in any way. Despite this, we were repeatedly complained to and spoken to in a condescending manner after checkout, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. There was no clear instruction in the Booking.com listing either that all dishes must be fully washed before checkout or that the apartment must be left spotless. While trash separation was mentioned, Airbnb-style self-cleaning expectations were not clearly communicated. This is important as the booking was made via Booking.com, not Airbnb, and expectations should align with the platform used. Communication from the host was also confusing, including being chided for contacting a phone number that was provided by Booking.com itself. Overall, expectations around cleaning and checkout procedures were unclear and not consistent with a Booking.com stay. Better communication and clearer house rules would be needed to avoid similar experiences for future guests.

The location was so central. There were shops, restaurants and a supermarket near by. Pete always picks you up and drops you off at the station, which is so welcoming.

Location 5 min walk to train station, supermarket and pharmacy. Shuttles bus at train station fee to goryu. Pete is a fantastic host . Beautiful modern spacious apartments with all facilities
